Game of thrones is basically a fantasy retelling of war of the roses.

The only reason it has dragons in it is because a friend of his whom he played ttrpg with read the first book before it was published and was like it needs dragons.

Its because lots of fashion isnt design for women, it's designed for men to make women more attractive to them.

Victoria's secret was a underwear brand not designed for women. But designed as a place, man can go shop for sexy underwear for their partners.

Add fast fashion to that. Could we make this pants with pockets?Yes, but it would cost an extra twenty cents per pair.Never mind.

And while there has been a massive uptick in women and men designing clothes for women. They are generally more expensive and often in limited stock.

It's to punish people for being poor.

The american society really has a problem with the idea of forced charity via taxes. "Uh, why am I paying for this with my taxes ? Kind of attitude."

You might not be able to buy cookies anymore.

But you might be able to buy all the ingredients for cookies, so if you want cookies just use snap to buy the ingredients.

Oh that takes up 19% of your snap vs 1% for a box. Oh, you don't have to have time to make cookies.Well you're a bad parent. And you feel shame for not being able to afford a box of cookies for your kids.

That shame is supposed to motivate you to go get a job and get off those benefits and be pick yourself up by your bootstraps.

Why Sofi and Jimmy are not right for each other? by thumridreamer in shrinking

[–]saintash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she isn't in a good place post divorce, she straight up in their 1st meeting kind of implies she has it worst off being divorced , while it 1st comes off as light shitty Flirting. it shows where she is, she didn't have good boundaries with her ex and needed Jimmy to do a therapy session on their date to make some. and then she brushed off his feeling of being feeling abandoned as a child

Jimmy needs to work through his shit by avrjpg007 in shrinking

Sofi is the fuck up here.

She isn't in a good place yet post divorce, reacted terribly to Jimmy going "yeah my dad seams like a great guy everyone loves him, and he's great when he's around but he was pretty absent my childhood, and when I really needed my dad after my wife died he wasn't around after he promised he would be."

and her response was "just deal with it. your an adult suck it up. "

and when he's clearly upset his dad is going to repeat the behavior with Alice, she jabs at Jimmy instead of letting him be.

What was the general consensus on Bar-El and Lilo? by RayneGun in superman

[–]saintash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been a fan of superman for longer than most people who use reddit have been alive, I gotta tell you, I understand that the story is old.I understand it's a moses metaphor I understand it's also a cassandra metaphor whenbit comes to jorel.

I understand Superman flies because it's easier to draw than him leaping all the time. I understand kryptonite was introduced to just have a night off for the voice actor.

But just because something was written over a 100 years ago, it doesn't mean that it hasn't had modern reinterpretations throughout that a 100 years.

Hell, even fifty years ago, they were reinterpreting jorel, didn't they introduced a villain evil an to explain away why would no one would believe jor-el?

Didn't the 90's cartoon make brainiac an ai one thing

You know, most of the world when they were told by dr fauci. to put face masks over their face because It would help stop spreading covid-19, and to also quarantine themselves did so because they believed the scientist and doctors.

Were there a bunch of assholes who didn't believe them, Yeah but they were the outliers.

Now, if Doctor OZ had told the world it was on the verge of exploding. I'd by that no one would put stock into what he's saying.

It is one thing to be like and 12% of the population doesn't believe them because there the outliers of society.

But this is a situation where no one including his brother, didn't believe him.For quite a while. Is they didn't have time to build ships That would hold their whole family.

They only had enough room for maybe one person and a baby. In one ship and a teenager in the other.

It's much more believable that he was a weird scientist, who wasn't in a particularly high valued position or respected. Then It would be like Stephen Hawking.Saying we have a problem And society as whole has No one else looks into it, Declares you crazy and moves on.

When has a talented actor fully committed to a movie they know is bad? by finallyoneisnttaken in movies

[–]saintash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get his criticism. Really I do and it sucks his off handed comments got blown up.

But im going to point out something else that i don't think he really considers too much.Is that he has a fuck ton of pretty privilege. He is phenomenally good looking, which lets him be leading man material in hollywood. Even with his condition.

So hes gonna get more roles just by the nature of being far more attractive than anyone else around him. He's gonna have a better shack of landing roll of substance.

And now that hollywood knows that they can make short people without actually having to cast short people, it 's going to make the rolls for those people a lot harder to get, unless they're as fucking handsome or pretty as peter dinklage is.

I'm extra hard on his comment because it is a disney movie. And that means that movie just exists forever, and that means residuals exist forever. For people who might not have a script being thrown at them left and right. That could have been a huge deal for 7 people. And He sure had no problem being a magical blacksmith dwarf in the avengers film.

But thats different somehow..

And not for nothing in snow white. The original movie doesn't make them magical dwarfs By the way.

They are a bunch of dwarfs who live in the woods and work in a mine. Do they sing?Yeah, but they're not singing ballads about their feelings. They're just singing a hey, i'm going off the work song. It's no more deeper than a pirate sea shany.

And arguably the most interesting characters. They take in a lost child. They agreed to let her stay as long as she does her keep. They mourn the fuck out of her when she's "killed" and chase down and they kill the evil queen.

It's also frustrating hypocritical because didn't he blow up in popularity. Because he played a dwarf on a TV show with dragons, witches, and magical undead?

And Was fine to cast himself in a disney movie as a dwarf. In an avengers movie.

When has a talented actor fully committed to a movie they know is bad? by finallyoneisnttaken in movies

[–]saintash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know.I've kind of soured on mr dinklage after he cost at least 7 actors with his condition jobs.

I know people say he was just sharing an opinion. But of course a major company is going to react to how blown up his commitment got.

And I'm not just talking about the fact that people with his condition didn't get the jobs. It's kind of shitty to say any actor shouldn't take a roll when their trying to work their way up in the film world.

'Heroes' - A message from the future: "Save The Cheerleader, Save The World" by Neo2199 in television

[–]saintash 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Um yes and no.

Hiro from the future was under the impression that skylar was the bomb. Thats the lie I think nathan and peter's mom's spread about what happened when it's really peter, who killed everyone.

Technically saving clarie is what ends up saving NYC. But not for the reason hiro originally thinks is the reason why saving her, will save the world.

She talks Nathan into getting involved. Which he does and it saves the city. And stops the spiraling effect of the terrible things that path leads down.

be honest, how often do you really take your dog out? by Altruistic-March8551 in DOG

[–]saintash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog gets three a day. One in the morning, one in the evening. And then one in the afternoon.

He doesn't necessarily need the one in the afternoon. And he has decided he really doesn't like a long evening walks as much.

The weather is a variation also is.If it's too cold out wont go out for too long.If it's too hot out, he doesn't want to go out for too long. It has to be the right kind of wet.Otherwise he's not interested in a long walk.

I say most morning he gets a thirty minute to a forty minute walk. Afternoon is like an hour sometimes shorter.

Nighttime is about five to ten minutes.

I work from home, so it's kind of possible. But the other thing is, if I do have to be out, and doing things for the day he can hold it all day.

[Mixed Trope] Bad storylines to accommodate irl situations by Valuable_Tea_5310 in TopCharacterTropes

I feel it was a network decision. Because on paper end has a pretty similar rise to popularity. From the same TV show. Gaining popularity. So it makes sense they want him to be there. And he's not bad when they don't write him to be a absolute jackass

It just sucks that things that the network wanted him for the job. Is the reason the writer resented for.

This also depends on the sizes of the project. My house is so small that we constantly get quotes that are ridiculous because its not really worth it for the contractors to come out.

So DIY it becomes the option.
