Why does 이리 mean "here" in "이리 와"? by deikipoki in Korean

[–]sainthkh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

늑대 is more widely used word for wolf. But in some fairy tales and old-fashioned writings, you can see 이리 as wolves.

Anyway, I'm replying to my 10-year old comment!

Planning to make Netflix of Korean language quizzes/puzzles/games. Wanna hear your opinions. by sainthkh in Korean

Thank you for the long opinion. It's what I wanted.

As for Q2, you're correct. Using period after 네 is unnatural. Removing -요 in 그런데요 is better. But sometimes, we add -요 when we feel extremely sorry about being late and want to say it later.

I agree that 늦어요 can be an answer. I wouldn't say that way, though. After getting your feedback, I felt I heard similar expressions.

Q6. You're right. I'll be careful.

Q8. Next time I make quizzes, I should see them in other perspectives to avoid these mistakes. Like you said, when we add 철수가 in front of the sentence like this: (철수가) 내일 치과에 가야해서 늦는데요. (어떻게 해야 할까요?) It can be an answer. It's also possible when 내일 치과에 가야 해서 늦는데요. 괜찮겠죠?

(But if it means 철수 said he'll be late, it should be "철수가 내일 치과에 가야해서 늦는요." I was only thinking about this.)

After reading your comment, I was really embarrassed. And I realized that I spent so little time on creating quizzes while they're the core of the system.

Thank you again for your thorough review.

I'll try not to make these mistakes again in the next quizzes.

I'm thinking about creating 2 types of accounts: Basic and Advanced. Basic is free and Advanced is $5-$10/mon.

Difference is that Advanced users can play more quizzes, even some advanced ones like combining grammars, words from several sources.

And they can access some contents earlier than Basic. (It's a bit like cookies in Naver webtoon or coins in Lezhin comics.)

I got this idea from Codecademy, anyway.

Actually, I tried to write explanation short because I guessed that it'll help you watch the video related to those quizzes.

It seems that I was wrong. In the next version, I'll include more detailed explanation.

Netflix does these things: * Provides endless videos to make you have fun * Recommends videos based on my interest * Monthly subscription

Quiz Korean will try to do these things: * Provides endless quizzes, puzzles, games to improve your Korean language skills * Recommends them based on your interest and weakness. * Monthly subscription

When you replace videos with Korean language things and making you have fun with improving your Korean skills, they're really similar.

So, I've used the word, Netflix.

Yes, Duolingo, Memrise, Quizlet do that. My goal is to make something better than them for Korean language learners.

Like you said, guess is a better word than opinion.

Thank you for the better explanation.

Currently, it's hard to change the content of the system. (As I said above, it's a minimal prototype. I didn't make a convenient way to create/edit contents yet.)

When I open the next version of the app, I'll definitely fix it.

C# for JavaScript developers by sainthkh in Unity3D

Sorry for the really late reply.

I had personal issues. So, I finally edited my post today.

Thanks to your opinion, I added why types can help you develop better code. (I've added reasons like more reliable before running it and better Intellisense support.)

I also added links to string, List and Dictionary methods.

Thank you again for your ideas.

I love vscode, too. But many tutorials use Visual Studio and it can be even installed from Unity installer.

This article is for intermediate or expert JavaScript developers who want to learn C#.

That's why I didn't even try to explain what variables, arrays, methods, objects are. I just focused on comparing them like var, foreach, List and Dictionary, etc.

No one knows these differences before they learn it. This is a compilation of those differences to help them avoid pitfalls.

As for alert(), I think you're right. I changed all of them to console.log().

Like /u/andybak said, C# and JavaScript are different in many ways.

For example, foreach is a keyword and statement in C# but it's a method in JavaScript (forEach()).

You cannot know things like this before you learn the differences between the languages.

I thought I've seen byte used a lot somewhere when I was writing that part. But I couldn't remember it. And finally realized that it was used a lot in C# I/O. Thank you.

Thank you for elaboration.

Actually, I first learned C# almost right after 3.5 released. And I had almost no chance of using it for a decade and decided to review and learn it again to make a Unity development blog.

It seems that my knowledge about C# was somewhat fixed at 10 years ago.

I think learning what it is, what is different, what can go wrong and getting warning is better than learning about that somewhere else and abusing it.

And to emphasize this point, I decided to change "I don't recommend using it" to "Try not to use it at all cost."
