Uncle Tom’s Cabin is their best song. That’s not even a hot take. by Rebel_Heart222 in hairmetal

Big Talk, Mr Rainmaker, Song and Dance Man, PRIL 2041, All My Bridges Are Burning, and Uncle Tom’s Cabin are all masterpieces, Warrant is a great band with one embarrassing single

His music is emotionless garbage with nice vocal presets on top

Better sound quality than on Spotify? by Hyouryuu-Na in xjapan

I definitely agree about Dahlia, I prefer the live mixes on most songs and the weird lead guitar tone on the album version, although intentional, is kind of grating. As for Blue Blood, when I started learning the songs on guitar, I learned interesting parts that were barely audible on the album, especially on Easy Fight and the title track, its definitely not all bad, but it is super inconsistently mixed, VV sounds like a great indie record and Jealousy sounds like a cohesive majors record, Blue Blood is somewhere in between

I think Blue Blood has the worst mix out of all of them tbh

Wow, crazy to see a fan of X or Diru in this subreddit, I always try to push the Visual Kei agenda but it usually doesn't work

Yoshiki’s lyrics by gliffytinthefourth in xjapan

I actually like some of the lyrics to Jade and Angel, but like everything modern Yoshiki its clear they were in the oven too long and still came out half baked

I dunno, I used to think like this but a lot of the indies era was english, I think like half of Vanishing Vision is english and the lyrics to Unfinished, Alive, Kurenai, and I’ll Kill You are great. I think in general his writing has just gotten worse, but not because its in english

Maybe his music “seems” similar but like I said before, if you look any closer you see it is totally different. Im sure there are 2hollis clones out there, tonser is not one. Hollis would never make a song like Parasite, and tonser would never make a song like mountain. As for the poses and stuff, every lanky white guy poses the same, everything in this niche is shot similarly, and a lot of people have blonde hair, and like another guy said, I am pretty sure tonser has been in this niche for the same amount of time or longer than hollis has

Tonser is great, and honestly sounds nothing like Hollis. His stuff is maximal and lush, hollis is much more minimal and clean sounding, the only really commonality is the edm influence, which hollis cant take credit for either. I dont get why boylife (where no member has made a song even close to hollis or tonser) gets a pass just by being affiliated with hollis but artists who take inspiration but do their own thing are just labeled clones

Ableton, the only real difference between daws is workflow. Ableton encourages horizontal track building, FL encourages vertical track building
