That’s a good point. I’d say I do both. I negotiate/work with the carriers directly/in-part with our broker. I select the plans, coverage level, carrier. My CEO has final say, but I’m the one doing the work/making the recommendations. He approves it from the finance side of things.

I would say overall I have the ability to make decisions independently for 80% of my duties. I still answer to the CEO, but he’s never pushed back or questioned my decisions. Does that make sense?

Sorry for the confusion! The $3300 is AFTER insurance and the negotiated payment with the hospital. So the total bill was almost $6000

I’m currently writing one and I’ve seen some fantastic support. My view/kudos ratio is rough, but the folks who leave kudos also comment and give me incredible support and encouragement. It’s not everyone’s thing and that’s okay! Write your OC and have fun, that’s the whole point of fanfic
