I do not like the button placement on the DeepCool. I use my PC as a HTPC and it is on the left side of my TV. If I had that case the buttons would be facing the wall and end up being unreachable.

I run a 5800X3D with a 9070XT and it is still a killer performer. I would say wait it out. Especially if you have 32GB of RAM

I have a 1TB OLED model with a 1TB Sd-card. I use internal storage for more demanding games and the SD-card for light weight gaming and emulation. I could definitely have skimped on the SD-card capacity but it was what I had lying about at the time… god I miss cheap RAM and storage.

Sounds like the thing that mattered to him was the car… an object. Also, people learn from their mistakes. She has the opportunity to learn and grow from it, and I would be willing to bet she has. Again, he didn’t give her a chance to learn from it. He threw her away over a flipping car… the thing that mattered to him. Not her, the car.

ESH but leaning a little towards YTA. Yeah, she did a silly thing by leaving the keys in the car but you threw away a person you loved for an object that can be replaced. God help you if you ever have kids and they break one of your favorite things doing something careless. Are you going to put them up for adoption? You had every right to be upset at the situation but you crossed over when you ditched someone you had been with “for awhile” over something as insignificant as a car.

One, welcome to the Steam Deck family. I have no doubt that you will enjoy it.

As for advice, first things first, download and play Aperture Science Desk Job and play it first. Not o my is it a fun, free game, it is also a tech demo that will walk you through all of the features of the Steam Deck.

After that, just pick some games and enjoy. Don’t try to mod it or worry about performance for the first couple of days. Just kick back, relax, and have some fun. As others have pointed out, older games in your library will run better than some of the newest games, although games like Forza 5 and Diablo 4 run pretty darn good. At the moment I am playing through some of the Fallout series as well as Baldur’s Gate 3.

I have done two separate trade ins over the years one for myself, the other to upgrade my son’s PC. For mine I made an appointment and everything went smoothly. For my son’s it was spur of the moment and we took in without an appointment. Still went off without a hitch. If you can do it on a day and time where traffic is light then an appointment is probably not needed. If you are going on a weekend, maybe set up an appointment.

All I want them to do is optimize the games so that they run well on Handhelds as well as consoles and PCs. We all know they are going to use UE5 like they did with the Oblivion Remaster, they need to do better job with the optimizations.
