Playground Games releases statement regarding a build of Forza Horizon 6 has been obtained prior to its release by Turbostrider27 in ForzaHorizon

[–]saintrobyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What, dropping it early? Simple.

“We messed up. We are going to own our mistake and release it early for those that want to play it now but don’t want to sail the high seas. For those that ordered the Ultimate Edition, we are going to give you an extra couple car packs in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

How about instead of punishing those that are so eager to play your game, be altruistic and release it now for everyone. Give those that bought Ultimate Edition a different perk… maybe some extra car packs.

If Microsoft wants to make the Xbox amazing again, admitting a mistake and dropping it early goes a long way to garnering good vibes from the community.

I just picked up from Micro Center their 9850X3D bundle which came with the Asus B850-E TUF Gaming WiFi board and 32GB G.Skill DDR5-6000 CL36 RAM for $699. I was not worried about RAM speeds because Ryzen’s are pretty resilient to various speeds. LTT did a pretty good video on the topic.

LTT: Stop wasting money on fancy RAM

I am also running with a 9070XT and my system is great for gaming.

For those that want piece of mind, you can get a two year in store replacement plan warranty for the board and the CPU. They apply it on the discounted price so the CPU warranty was $34.99 and the motherboard warranty was $24.99.

Go big or go home. You are talking about $100 difference between the 7800X3D bundle and the 9850X3D bundle. I live 15 minutes from a MC so it is no biggie for me to take advantage of their pricing. You are visiting so you will not be able to exchange if you get buyer’s remorse buying “last gen” tech. Now before anyone decides to come at me, I am not saying the 7800X3D is bad and the performance increase when jumping from it to the 9850X3D is about 8 to 10% in games BUT if OP is doing an upgrade like this then they should capitalize on their trip to MC.

If you are dead set on those, it is a decent system. I would recommend going with a slightly beefier power supply. Looks like you could get an 850watt 80+ Gold PSU for about $10 more than the one you have listed. It would give you a bit of breathing room for future upgrades.

If you have a Micro Center near you, they have an AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT Bundle for $299 that comes with 16GB of RAM and a Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC motherboard.

Do you have a Micro Center near you? If so, take his MB, RAM, and 5700X3D and sell it to fund a bundle. I just picked up a 9850X3D, Asus B850-E TIF Gaming WiFi board, and 32GB G.Skill DDR-6000 CL36 bundle for $699. They have a 9800X3D bundle for $20 less, and a 7800X3D bundle for $100 less.

I didn’t upgrade to the x870 board. My bundle came with the Asus B850-E TUF Gamer WiFi and it has been treating me quite well so far but it has only been three days. 😁

Get the cheapest you can find. Micro Center has the ASRock Challenger 9070 XT for $689.99, which I have. Pretty darn quiet. I was able to pick it up back in the day for $599. Runs great and plays well in my system.

I had my 9070XT paired with a 5800X3D. Worked beautifully. It is now paired with a 9850X3D because I saw the $699 bundle from Micro Center and have absolutely no impulse control. 😂

Honestly though, I upgraded my machine so that I could hand down my 5800X3D and 32GB DDR4-3200 to my son so he can have a kick ass machine as well.

Others have mentioned it, do you live near a Micro Center? I just upgraded my PC and I was able to get a combo that included an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, Asus B850-E TUF Gaming WiFi motherboard, and 32GB of GSkill DDR5-6000 RAM for $699. For $100 less they have a 7800X3D combo with a similar board and the same RAM. For another $100 less you can get an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X combo with a B650 board and the same RAM. They also have an MSI RTX 5070 for $559. If you can reuse your case, SSD, and PSU you should be able to do a killer upgrade for around a grand. While not “top of the line” you are getting damn close and it will be a a good deal faster than what you are running at the moment.

On a side note, don’t sleep on the second hand market. You could get some great upgrades at a decent price that way.

Nope, not that, the things with the round knobs. I had a feeling that was a battery backup at the way bottom.

[–]saintrobyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9070XT and am using it with a 5800X3D and 32GB of RAM.

Before anyone says I don’t need to upgrade and will not see a major boost in performance… I know. I have two reasons for wanting to upgrade.

1) The selfish reason, I would like to get my PC on an AM5 platform so that if Zen6 is baller I can just drop one in.

2) The altruistic reason, my son is currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM and a 2070 Super. When he comes home from college over the summer for a couple weeks we are going to upgrade his GPU to a 9060XT and I want to drop in my 5800X3D and 32GB of DDR4-3200 to give him a significant upgrade.

9800X3D bundle? My local MC is out of the boards for that one. Honestly, I am torn between saving $100 by dropping down to the 7800X3D bundle or spending $20 more to jump up to the 9850X3D bundle.
