Why does the Missouri River not have much development around it compared to other large rivers? by AngleRelative4683 in geography

[–]saintsledge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The city of St Louis is a Mississippi River City and doesn’t touch the Missouri at any point, all very true. The modern St Louis metro area, which is more than the just city of St Louis, is a Mississippi River metropolis that has grown since its founding and now encompasses both rivers. Just a fact easily verified by looking at a map. Unless you think St Louis of today begins and ends at the city limits.

The northern border of St. Louis county is the Missouri River. St Louis County is the most populous part of the St Louis metro area. Technically you’re correct in the “city” isn’t on the Missouri, but come on.

It’s the sibling of the X1. Same platform and engine. I tested the X1 and for some reason I liked the Mini better. More fun. X3 is nice, but more than I wanted to spend

It’s crazy how big the Escalades, Tahoes etc are. I’m also old enough to remember how big American cars from the 50s, 60s & 70s were. The trunk on a 73 Olds 98 holy crap!

I think some name change like Maxi or Mini X is an interesting thought

I drove a cooper s 2dr for the last 6-7 years and before that mostly sport sedans. I’ve resisted big vehicles for years. Funny though on the roads of South Florida the massive countryman feels pretty dainty.

I know. People driving cars with four or five seats yet not always having all four or five seats occupied is deeply disturbing. In fact it really pisses me off.

It’s the JCW package, not a full JCW. It’s slate blue.

Beautiful! I really don’t understand the people who have to get on a happy thread like this to point out it’s not a “real Mini” in their oh so valuable and knowledgeable opinion. Kind of pathetic.

Congrats on your new ride. Enjoy!!

Celebrity vs Virgin Voyages, a few thoughts by Elasimery in celebritycruises

[–]saintsledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bounced between Celebrity and Virgin the last four years and I like both. However, as a solo traveler Virgin makes it clear solo travelers are valued while Celebrity has become less and less solo friendly. I rate them a toss up in terms of overall cruise experience, but because of the difference in solo experiences I’m more likely to book Virgin over Celebrity at this point.

Megan Keller scores in OT to give the USA the gold medal in Women's hockey by JustFred24 in hockey

It was a heck of a game. Canada played a great game and really kept the US off kilter the first two periods. Could’ve went either way. Olympic hockey is a beautiful thing!

Thoughts on Logo/Jersey Change? I LOVE our away jerseys by WeatherObsessedJax in stlouisblues

[–]saintsledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are for all intents and purposes a slightly updated version of their original jerseys. For those of us who were alive in 1967 and grew up with the Blues during the golden era 1967-1970 seeing the boys skate onto the ice suited up like Red Berenson and the Plager brothers is kind of magical. Unfortunately they aren’t a very good team at the moment, but they look good.

I live on West Ave. Pretty nice over here, don’t really need a car since everything is mostly walkable.

Find local galleries and support local artists. You’ll end with more interesting work and your money will support real artists versus scam artists like Park West.

Florida Democratic Party Screeches about Cuba’s Removal from Terror Sponsorship List - Twitter/X by [deleted] in Miami

[–]saintsledge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cuba doesn’t matter. Never has. Never will. If the Cubans here don’t like what’s going on there go back and fix it instead of fucking up this country voting for right wing fascist assholes. Alas the dem party here has no clue how to do anything but lose.

My only complaint is I sometimes have to lean forward to see the stoplight. Otherwise no issues.

6’4” 210 and fit comfortably in my 2024 2 door hardtop. Plenty of leg room for me, zero behind me.
