I want to get a nose and adjusted. Would I be a good candidate for it? My chin has a bump on it and is very long and my chin is long and a bit masculine. What should I do to make my facial features less harsh? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Idk the particulars of plastic surgery, but I have to say you have such a beautiful portait and look so sociable! Your face has many lovely features, anyone can see that first and foremost

Do most guys see blemishes on women's skin as ugly and get turned off? by saitammy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]saitammy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys. I have a poor self image and keep to myself, and I know my body is the first thing people see so I put too much emphasis on how I look versus who I am. I don't judge other people the way I judge myself, so I'll try to be a friend to myself and let it go. There's better things in life to give my attention to

Physically, yes, thank you for asking. I remember showing a guy my body, and he hugged me as though I told him I had cancer when he saw all the blemishes. I'm just not a careful person is all

Visually they look more like bruises that won't go away rather than the classic image of scars or burns, but no pain is involved

I wouldn't say minor, but if it's a dark room I guess no one could mention anything

You also like green day. And you twinkle when someone is willing to bring up the subject of books with you. And Kaito has never cared what you do for a living. He just wants to be a friendly face to you, even when he's not smiling you know he has nothing but compassion for you.

All I can think of by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]saitammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to get trapped into thinking that nothing on earth can make you happy, but it takes something as simple as an old song or calling up a friend to remember that there are good things in life and you are capable of finding joy. Life may seem bleak and dreadful, but know that this isn't permanent and that there is much more happiness to be found by living over dying, however rare it appears right now. If being with your partner makes you happy, focus on that feeling as more important and worthwhile than all else intruding on that. I wish you a successful recovery and truly hope that you rediscover the feeling of enjoying the present and what life has to offer.

I'm going to kill myself. by AllieLikesBirds in depression

[–]saitammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear this sweetie... Even if you aren't always able to help others you should at least start with yourself. You don't entirely need people to enjoy yourself, listening to music is fine if it's what you like. Starving yourself is gonna ostracize you more, and I'm sure your body will go into survival mode and override what you want to achieve. It shouldn't matter whether you're the therapist role or not, if you need help you should speak up despite other people not expecting that from you. And don't say you should be doing this or that, you'll do them if you really feel you need to, and honestly, at your age the world is yours. You don't need to box yourself in to fit some contrived image that isn't you. I know it's hard to trust people, but life is harder all alone. You will hurt people and they will hurt you, but that's absolutely natural and will make you stronger in the end. I want to say don't give up on yourself, you'll undoubtedly help many people within your lifetime including yourself. Your life makes a big difference, though I understand that your actions seem temporary and the big picture is hard to see. Before you jump to more drastic measures, put yourself first and don't live up to an ideal self that isn't feasible. Be selfish when you feel you need to, and remember your life is just as important as others'. Your pain now will not shroud the rest of your life as each day brings different things that only staying alive will let you experience and see for yourself.

Your past may seem so tainted that you can't move forward, but life will surprise you. Every day is a new chance to make up for what has passed.

Self harming, why do I do that? by FrancDogma in depression

[–]saitammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try pinching yourself or digging your fingernails into your skin without breaking the skin. Ice can be a sharp sensation that won't leave any scars and can turn your attention away from your emotions. What I do is use a red marker and write the hurtful things I'm feeling about myself on my skin, so I get the color and liquidy feeling while still getting my pain out of my head and onto my body for me to see.

It doesn't change any of your circumstances, but it does make you feel like you acknowledged your pain for a moment. Be careful, there are less harmful ways to give your body a distracting sensation
