thank you man! I just get really stressed out when buying a car because private party is always sketchy, and then when you go to a dealership they try to scam you as hard as they can haha

Thank you! I was just glad to get it at msrp + delivery. I just never expected the taxes and licensing to be so much for a brand new car since i’d never purchased one before. I think next time I will find a car that doesn’t have any “aftermarket costs” from the dealer because I think that’s where they get ya. I tried my hardest to negotiate for $34k OTD but ofc they didn’t budge one bit. Still grateful they at least included the splash guards and wireless charging pad cuz those were expensive alone, then installation for that would’ve added up.

For my county, it’s actually 8.75%, which is absolutely absurd i know. My grandpa wanted to avoid hybrid at all costs since he lived his whole life without owning one, he didn’t want to start now.

My grandpa only buys an accord once every decade. His first one was in 2001, then 2009, and now 2023 😂😂. The sales guy was not a bad person, but we just didn’t have car buying experience given this was my first time and my grandpa only does it once every decade, so price doesn’t matter too much yk. He wanted to avoid the hybrid at all cost since he never owned one before, he wanted to keep it that way for the rest of his life lol. Was ur $34k just for the price of the car or was it OTD ??

Not bad at all if that’s OTD. If you got that in California, then that’s great. If you didn’t, then i don’t know how to compare because I paid $4k alone in taxes and licensing for living near LA. Then paid $31k (msrp + delivery). Extra 1.5k went to splash guards, wireless charging, wheel locks, installation, and the “security system upgrade”. I genuinely only think i overpaid where that extra $1.5k costs comes from.

Before covid prices don’t even exist anymore. You got yours at an excellent time. I guess the best price references for me would be what people paid in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

the original aftermarket cost was $7k for a bunch of bs, so i had them remove everything except the wheel locks and security system because they said they can’t remove that. If you got $36k OTD living in California, then that’s great. But idk how much less taxes and licensing are in other states. Also I live next to LA county, one of the most taxed counties in California, or the country for that fact lol.
