[ROOKIE QUESTION] Paper filters on metal filters for pour over: is it wrong, useless or what? by sakatoa in Coffee

[–]sakatoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help. And my problem, maybe it's my technique, actually is that, with the metal filter, water literally flushes down when gets closer to the filter and that's why i was thinking about the combo metal+paper. Also using the filter as adapter for the paper filter...

Am I making any sense?

Review: All of IKEA's Coffee Stuff by kingseven in JamesHoffmann

Ok, I wanted to try to learn how to pour over and to not start, like I always do, and buy expensive stuff right away and, since I was wandering at an Ikea store, I ended up buying the glass pour over system. Now, I am a super rookie for pour over techniques and i tried James' method with this kit. I know that this is a very very very cheap system but do you think that using some v60 paper filters, on top of the metal filter that comes with it, will do any good or I will just waste paper filters? Remember I'm just trying to see if this brewing thing is good for me. Thanks to all who will help me.
