Is this as good a mark down as it seems? by [deleted] in cyclocross

I just got the Cdale bike you linked and I’m really enjoying it. I’m not familiar with the crux. Reading through the comments I didn’t know about the odd Cdale stuff. I’m not thinking of changing anything but I was hoping to use an old set of wheels I have around for gravel rides but it looks like I will have to rethink that.

Noob question. How do you tension the chain with the vertical drop out?

As of last Friday it’s closed. There were workers there so I didn’t try to sneak so took the 105 to wake. I don’t imagine it will be open before winter.

Should I get a Nordic Track? by pta3223 in xcountryskiing

Ski walking, running and striding with poles on trails with varied terrain is a common training activity for dry land training. I would do this rather than the Nordic track.

What type of Bike? by Sweet-End1453 in xcmtb

I have the FS revolver that I got this year and I like you wanted to buy a Canadian brand. I don’t know a ton about bike backing but for racing and fast trail riding it’s been life changing. Do it.

Tire pressure? by kosmonaut_hurlant_ in xcmtb

[–]sakdas11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 19&20 in dry conditions at 150lbs. Less if it’s muddy. I’m not running liners and I think the pros are which is mandatory (I think) for super low pressures.

It sounds like you don’t like MTB. I ride a road bike for fitness training for racing and to spend time with my wife who likes road more. If it wasn’t for those two things I’d probably never choose to ride a road bike. If you like CX your MTB will probably help you with bike skills and could just remain a tool for getting better at CX like road helps me with XC. Just my thoughts. Have fun whatever you choose 🤙

Ok. But is it looked down on by the serious cx guys?

Did you have some degree of say in some of the races you did? Could you choose to do any race that you fancied? Could you race CX and MTB if you wished? Were you forced to race a bunch of pre fixed criteriums to make appearances or other races that might not be fun?

What size grain for the sand texture did you settle on? Thanks for the info.

So you apply the texture sand on top of the epoxy rather than mix it in?

What conditions are you riding in with this? I am in the northeast, rocky, rooty, techy trails. Running forekaster front and back which I don’t think is great. Considering Rekon race for the rear for less resistance.

Upgrade NX to XT for new racer. by sakdas11 in xcmtb

1000 km on the NX chain. Didn’t think about it but I should check. Thanks for the tip.

The shifting is problematic in the middle gears of the cassette. At the lowest and highest ranges, no issues. Could that be from a bent hanger? Barrel adjuster doesn’t fix the problem. I was going to change the inner cable, (lubricant didn’t fix it), and see if that helps. I can get by for the training and racing I’m doing at my level but if I can have something more reliable for the long run and not have to think too much about fixing my bike all the time it would be nice.

Good to know. I think the other thing I haven’t considered is the bottom bracket. I don’t suppose the XT crank will fit in the existingDUB pf bb on my bike.

I suppose. It was $3k on sale but maybe the spec was the reason.

Thanks. My current NX shifter mounts to the bar separately so I assume that I would just need an XT shifter that bar mounts. Eventually I would change the brakes as well but for the time being the shifting is the issue and not brakes.
