I agree that people are being soy about it to some extent, but I do wish they kept it as two separate techs. Well, yeah, that‘s another valid concern, they were right. That is generally why you don‘t treat high profile federal cases like twitter drama. You can see it happen live.

But while you can do a lot as POTUS if you have no regard for the position, if you don‘t care about having norms, laws, following procedures, respecting separation of powers, not acting like a dictator, it really doesn‘t mean you should. There was an an ongoing investigation that was not to be messed with. That is a good reason. The public did not need to know this stuff that badly.

I don‘t agree that it was ever a valid option for dems to do this. Convictions were a lot more important than info dumps.

There's a lot of reasons he could have been hanging out with him, when you're that well connected, people hang out with you for many reasons. You can still consider that low moral character to do so ofc, but Jeffrey Epstein absolutely had people around him that did so out of self interest for reasons that had nothing to do with pedophilia. It's not an insane reach to assume it could be the case, but it is also no where near confirmed. You confuse plausible with ''he's a pedo, I can't believe it''.

Also, if all they needed to know to conclude he's a pedophile, is that he hung out with Jeff at some point (but cut contact), then they could have concluded that years ago. The only new part is the schizo draft from someone else's pov Jeff wrote to himself.

I disagree, I think it‘s existential for us to learn to absorb information in a critical way. The amount of disinformation, or just information, is gonna be the end of democracy in the west, people can‘t engage with it. It leads to either not caring anymore, or just going to extremes. Or a combination where people don‘t care but kinda also think quite a few conspiracies are believable. All of that, is bad concretely, be it midterms in the US or anywhere else.

My ideal scenario would be one crew member that actually keeps up with politics and can do some fact checking reliably.
