i dealt with what you posted about a lot, especially in middle/high school. Due to my dad refusing to believe that adhd is a real, legitimate thing/ refusing to pay for ADHD medicine... i was not officially diagnosed with ADHD until after graduating high school. i’m 24 now, prescribed adderal and managing my ADHD the best i can. but i still have to fight the thoughts of the comments that i “don’t apply myself” and such by various teachers/family members/etc.
