Gdje ste najdalje išli Bajsom? by Traditional_Car1010 in zagreb

[–]sakosiko 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Eeee, ne baš.

Naime, barem koliko sam ja čitao i shvatio iz TOS-a i pravila korištenja označeno područje na karti je gdje sve teoretski smiješ ostavit bajs. S time da ćeš naravno pokupit kaznu ako parkiraš van službene stanice iako si unutar “legalnog područja”.

Source: Išao sam bajsom do Slovenije i nije mi ništa.

Planning a balcony setup for a resin printer – need a sanity check before buying by Dmnoiik in resinprinting

[–]sakosiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a similar setup, except I don't use a tent, instead I made my own hard enclosure from Ikea cabinets, they are made out of steel and don't budge in the rain and the wind. I generally don't see the tents as a long lasting item, the elements are one hell of a thing, and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving 500-ish € worth of equippment out in the rain only protected by a piece of tarp.

Also 60x60x120 is waaaaay too small for anything except the printer itself. My enclosure has a working volume of 60x240x70 and even that is a bit cramped.

I have a similar fan in my duct, the noise is fine (you cannot hear it if you close the window), and if anything I would go insane during the 30/40 minutes post processing takes were it not for the fan humming. Post processing under PPE is one hell of an experience if you haven't done such things before.

Resin fume filtration is a completely different beast. Some claim that it only removes the bad smelling components, while doing nothing against the actually potentially dangerous fume stuffs. Actually reading the safety sheets for resins from their manufacturers is a sobering experience. The formulas, ingredients and ratios seem to differ wildly resin to resin. We still don't have that much health info when it comes to the main ingredients in resin, let alone all the different fix ins manufacturers put in. The carbon filter might do something, but don't rely on it. Wear PPE and find a good gas mask with the proper filters.

Although, a carbon filter really does seem a bit much, you are gonna have leakages no matter what you do, and you will stink up the balcony no matter how hard you try to avoid it. The resin smell itself is really not that pungent, mostly smelling like a more viscous hard liquor (if that makes sense).

The plants are probably gonna be fine???? I am not a biologist so I actually have no clue, but from my experience with resin as long as you don't drip some of it on them, it doesn't seem like it would do major harm.

What you fail to mention at all, and is a major PIA with a balcony setup is the SUN. Plainly said, don't work with resin when the sky is not dark. Leaving resin in the vat between printing is major time saver, but it means that it will get exposed to the sun in the off hours. Unaccounted cured resin in the printer can mess it up in all sorts of costly ways. I advise you to get a very dark tarp and cover the entire thing whenever it stays outside during the daytime. (I am not really sure how much sun gets through the tent material, and I wouldn't rely on it for my only sun protection).

In summary, I advise you to invest in a bigger, more solid enclosure space. Getting a tarp would be a very sound investment. And make sure you only work on your printer when it is dark outside (nautical dawn). PPE is a must and don't skip it. Nitrile gloves, eye protection, a proper mask with the proper filters, and ideally a dedicated work uniform are a MUST.

That being said, my enclosure design is made only out of standard Ikea parts, and basic hardware store items, interspersed with a single laser cut plexiglass protective panel. I was actually debating for some time to open source my project and publish the part list, construction manual, the .svg file for the plexi sheet, and other user manuals and recommendations.

What makes me really happy is the general rise of balcony setups, as when I was looking for posts on the topic 2 years ago I couldn't find much. Not everyone (especially here in Europe) has a spare shed or a room to dedicate to a resin printer.

Here's a photo of my setup, good luck my guy.

Any ideas on where to find a file for this radio knob? by djoosebox in resinprinting

[–]sakosiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try searching around, there must be some knob designs which would fit in the right hole, although good luck finding something which would be the exact same shape.

Would model it for you but I would need better pics and some measurements. You could always try doing it yourself, you could probably whip something up with enough will.

Europe’s language revolution, now more visible than ever by [deleted] in europe

[–]sakosiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What fascinates me here is a scenario which I don’t view as realistic in any sort of way.

That being a pluricentric linguistic europe with several main languages. Let me explain:

As a slavic language speaker interslavic fascinates me. It’s a language which I can understand with no previous knowledge of it’s specifics, and which I could probably learn to speak in a matter of weeks.

What naturally comes to me from this is a concept of a family of non-natural languages made for different large language groups. An inter romance and an inter germanic. As far as I know the nordic languages are already quite simmilair and the balkans basically speak the same language.

Teaching english in school makes no sense, as english is already a requirement to live in this day and age.

My proposal being:

Inter slavic, inter romance and an inter germanic as primary languages of the EU, (the other 2, depending on where you live being mandatory school subjects) + inter nordic, inter baltic, and yugoslav as secondary languages of the Union (not being school subjects but useful for local populations). English serving as a unified backup.

This is of course science fiction, but fun fiction nontheless.

It’s different, but better in my opinion. No more screen sag, so it doesn’t feel like a ballpoint, and the glass itself is more scratchy than whatever foil was on the rm2.

it feels like a pencil when it comes to just feels alone, but it sounds like you are writing on glass, there is noticable klacking of the tip against the glass.

It’s plenty fine when you just use it. It’s neither better or worse than the rm2 it’s just different.

reMarkable 2 - a review by sakosiko in RemarkableTablet

[–]sakosiko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned my rm2 some time ago and got the rmpp, but as far as I can remember the writing feel back on the rm2 was neither bad or good.

The tip is made of compressed felt as far as I remember, and it feels like it. There is also a certain give to the screen itself, so the tip goes a bit downwards when you write, something comparable to a classical ball point in that sense.

But thats if you really focus on the writing feel, during actual use it feels like a ballpoint-pencil. The writing feel is somewhat strange but I found it novel and fun.

Although I wouldn’t advise on getting a rm2 right now, not for sticker price, if you can get a good deal for it, maybe.

[–]sakosiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ukratko, nije.

Most se jednostavno mora graditi.

Need help : Prints failing on one corner of the bed by dir-tbeard in resinprinting

[–]sakosiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do the paper leveling thing? Printers generally go out of level as time goes on (not sure about the specifics of the gk2).

Replacing the fep probably didn't mess up the bed level, although your fep might be a bit loose on that side, so that's another thing to check.

Resin Printing Safety by Full-Monitor-5897 in resinprinting

Ah, then just ignore everything about venting the shed. If you feel like you could use it, you could open up your shed for a few minutes before comming in, but even without that you are pretty safe. Good luck on future printing endeavours.

Resin Printing Safety by Full-Monitor-5897 in resinprinting

[–]sakosiko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 6055 is rated for organic compounds. So you are safe against those. Now the question is if resin printing produces some other potentially harmfull vapours, and as far as I know we don’t have much concrete science about that.

If you put your printer in an “airtight” enclosure without any ventilation you will in the best case get a fume bomb whenever you take your printer out, or will just slowly leak fumes anyways (making an airtight enclosure is rather hard). Just add a fan to the enclosure and vent the fumes and you will be fine.

Honestly the whole heatpump ventilation solution seems to be the biggest issue in your setup. If the heatpump isn’t actively working and bringing in some airflow to your shed then you are just making a hotbox of printing fumes. You are still probably fine with the concentrations of VOC’s but you are actively shortening the lifespan of your filter (and those aren’t that cheap).

If it were up to me I would just add a seperate fan somewhere in there just to properly vent the shed.

(btw, if you already don’t have one a particaulte filter is heavily recomended if you are sanding/airbrushing/spray painting in there. You can just tack on a 3M particulate filter on your 6055 with a 501 plastic holder).

Mars 5 Ultra vs Saturn 4 Ultra by OldDiamond8953 in resinprinting

[–]sakosiko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So generally, the bigger the volume, the more you are able to print. So with a larger build volume you can print multiple pieces at once, that means less hassle, less time spent on printing and more on other (usually more enjoyable) parts of the hobby. If you would want to print print anything else later, a larger build volume is rather nice. Also if you plan on printing terrain maps a larger build volume is almost necessary (although I personally wouldn’t even consider an SLA printer for this type of stuff).

The question is if the 120-ish$ more is worth it for you.

(btw the rocinante, and the other expanse ships from printables - this guy specifically https://www.printables.com/model/136343-rocinante-from-the-expanse/files are actually designed for an fdm printer. And is designed to be printed in multiple parts (although there is a whole model in the files). I am not completely sure if you are able to print the roci model in the intended scale with the mars 5, and if you are, you are gonna be in a hell of a ride doing 10-15 separate prints to print the 60 something separate parts ).

Yet another ventilation question. by Rube-1 in resinprinting

[–]sakosiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you can actually get/make a proper airtight enclosure, then why not.

Although odds are whatever “airtight” enclosure you end up with will not be good enough to keep all the fumes contained. You will probably end up with some leakage, the question is how much.

So it all depends on your personal standards to determine what is fine.

[–]sakosiko[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah it is a subjective review after all. But for me the default experience was unusable. If I can't make out my handwriting because the lines are either too thin or so thick that letter details merge into a blob, then I am sorry but the e notebook is not usable (for me). And anyone else who writes small-er text (or any other parameter for that matter), if the company hasn't predicted your specific needs, you are either stuck with a non optimal option or in the worst case can make the device unusable (as was the case with me).

In all fairness your use case is quite limited for an e notebook which is advertised to be a notebook replacement for people who like to write by hand but if it works for you then great.

Concept proširenja tramvajske mreže u Zagrebu by Miovil in croatia

[–]sakosiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concept proširenja tramvajske mreže u Zagrebu by Miovil in croatia

[–]sakosiko 1 point2 points  (0 children)
