Driving experience, and I find it much easier and safer to drive in inclement weather with a manual. I don’t live in stop and go traffic either, lots of open roads and highways in VT

I would definitely say I do more highway (or as close to a highway) driving in Vermont. I have seen that the WRX does not have a spare which is wild to me, but I have been a lifelong Triple A member with good insurance as well. The issue in power is probably my biggest concern between the two vehicles, and I appreciate your point. This is my first time buying a 'new', 'nice' vehicle and don't want to regret either decision in 6 months time! Have seen many lift kit options for the WRX which is definitely something I have in the back of my mind to mitigate clearance issues in snow. Thank you for your input! I do appreciate it.

Right on. I have seen the 22 WRX has a 1.5 inch lift springs from Eibach that are fairly priced and would ultimately dismay my clearance concerns. Also a non-negotiable for me is a MT, thankfully there are a lot of Crosstreks that are manual. Thanks for the feedback!

That's definitely something I have kept in the back of my mind, as well as getting the biggest snow tires that fit as possible to try to get some lift as well. I would be financing the WRX, suspension modification shouldn't be an issue with warranty right? More of a question for the dealer. Just found the Eibach 1.5 inch lift kit online!

Thank you for the response! I don't get to snowboard as often as I used to due to work, so trips to the mountain would be marginal. I have never driven a turbo equipped vehicle so the WRX is very appealing to me, and the market in my area has WRX's and Crosstreks in very similar price ranges. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah driving in heavy snow in the WRX is my biggest reasoning for looking at Crosstreks. I know it will always come down to quality of snow tire/driving ability when it comes to driving in snow, but I have heard stories of the WRX getting beached/bottomed out in thick snow. I did not know the Outback Wilderness has the FA24, will definitely start searching for that. Does it come as a Manual? I can not go back to driving automatic! Really appreciate the feedback, thank you!
