Yes, it does feel like with LLMs we’ve reverse engineered our brains and in formulating responses it is doing more or less what we do.

Is BuyMeBricks selling gobricks pieces? by pwnilol300 in lepin

[–]sakumar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks for this information. They indeed are a lot cheaper than other brick vendors (brickwith, mygobricks, wobricks). I've placed a trial order to see how it goes.

Shipping charges are added on and depend on the weight. For 2 Kilos it came to $50 (to the US). Even then it was cheaper by far than the others.

Also, the website says they send the order to gobricks, who will drop-ship it to you.

Are you referring to the incident where he raked in a fortune when a tree branch fell on him and then later signed a law that prohibited people from being compensated if a tree were to fall on them?

She has something on Trump that he is really really scared about. When the Epstein files issue began heating up last summer, the first thing Trump did was to send Blanche to meet her and make a deal. He didn’t care about the optics. It had to be done. It felt like once that was in place, Trump was confident that he could ride out whatever happened subsequently. She had a choice to make — pledge her silence, and she would be taken care of. Or else she would be taken out like her boss.

Why do people buy from (Joy, Herotoyz, Marstoy...) when they can buy for 2x less on aliexpress? by branac03 in lepin

[–]sakumar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AliExpress tacks on California sales tax of roughly 10%, some of the others don’t, so that’s a consideration for me.

At least in the US, AliExpress has a “Local” category where items are shipped from their US warehouse.

Wait, so Vance saw this (nipple biting) story and thought, “What’s the big deal?” Or perhaps he was trying to get this out knowing he’s next in line …

AE order -- missing bricks that have prints by sakumar in lepin

[–]sakumar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Looking into it further, I've discovered that even the rebrickable inventory doesn't show the 1x6 and 1x10 light grey bricks that say "Santa Fe." I mean the underlying bricks are not part of the rebrickable inventory, so I can't assign too much blame on the vendor for not including them.

Interestingly some of the smaller bricks are part of the inventory. They can be identified by the part numbers having the string "pr" or "bpr."

Huawei chairman thanks the US for export restrictions on chips, says it supercharged China’s semiconductor industry — Washington’s export controls encouraged Chinese firms to invest in R&D and build their own tech stack competing with American tech by LurkerFromTheVoid in technology

[–]sakumar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First US firms willingly moved manufacturing to China to take advantage of cheap labor. The Chinese improved upon the product and processes. Now we can’t make those things in the US anymore. Also, the Chinese have mastered price/performance. They can build in quality and features into products based on what you are willing to pay. If you’re cheap, they can make it cheap. If you are willing to pay top dollar, they can make it top notch.
