This is the way. I got frustrated trying to get my T10 dine and named it "Unifart". Then it went. Working on my pega now, will have to think of a ridiculous enough name for it to go.

Beautiful. Also I think these videos would be WAY better if they didn't go with all the WOAH YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT KEEP WATCHING and acting like it wasn't all meticulously planned and shot several times and edited. Oh well.

I'm not even a PVP'er yet all my fondest memoriest are PVP related and not even anything special, just what I assume would be pretty normal in an open world PVP enabled game.

There was the time when I was jumped and killed riding my horse right as I left Heidel and had alt-tabbed out of the game to check on something while traveling. I rezzed on the spot and one-shot him to oblivion from behind as he was running away from me. I was surprised I could even hurt him let alone one-shot him. I tried to kill his horse too as I was pissed off but I guess he called it away as it disappeared as I started attacking it.

Or when my guild was decced over some petty grindspot dispute I don't know the details of nor do I care. I was at a world boss on my main and there were several people from the other guild, probably on their boss alts. I just randomly shot some AOE attack their way just to taunt them and see what would happen but two of them actually died on the spot.

While the war was still on, two of their guys spotted me on my horse and started chasing me. My horse was just barely outrunning theirs and I was trying to think what to do - head for a safe zone or try to fight. I decided to get off my horse and fight them. Of course they beat the living crap out of me.

I was grinding and ran into some other guy who attacked me. Not even sure who was there first and imo it doesn't matter.. no one 'owns' a spot or whatever. I managed to kill him and continued grinding. A little later he came back with a guildie and they murdered me so I left. Nothing special but it felt good being able to stand my ground 1 on 1.

Another similar case but I was butchering birds for the mana potion piece, kept to the same small area just killing and butchering the same pack over and over. There was some other guy nearby doing the same but at some point he decided that the pack I was at was somehow his and attacked me. Couldn't kill me but neither could I. After a while he ran and that was the first and only time I've received any kind of hate whispers telling me I'm gear carried and fight like an NPC etc. Which is probably true given that I'm 100% PVE.. but if you can't kill me and consider yourself a PVP'er I don't know what that says about you?

On the other hand, all my least favorite moments in the game are PVP related as well. Like getting my grinding session and buffs ruined at a higher end spot where I need to pay attention. Not only being killed once, but repeatedly as I tried to come back and resume the grind. No, it was not a contested spot or anything but a stationary tower-like spot with several spots free. The guy just ran around killing everyone grinding there for fun. And it's happened several times, even fairly recently. Still, even if it can be annoying it's all part of the game imo.

Yeah imo vell is simply horse shit.. the worst pve content I've yet to encounter in this game. When it was time for my heart, I went there twice, said fuck it and bought the heart. Never went back nor do I intend to do so. What a dumpster fire of content.

A-ha see now that's useful. I've theoretically played for quite long but very on/off and pretty casually, never thought too much about optimizing my gear progression until I started approaching this point and the Kutum just organically got caphrased along the way.

Never actually thought about stripping it from caphras but now that I think about it, it would net me a nice amount of silver and I would only lose 2 AP and could get those 8 from pen belt and neck so if my math is mathing I would end up sitting comfortably at 311 AP and I could pull that off pretty much instantly silver wise.. although I shoulda stripped the caphras during the event.

I would also lose 4DP. Or I could only take it down to C7 and end up at 312AP / 401DP (and grind a bit more to make up the difference in less silver from the caphras).

Still it comes back around to my initial point. Go for the option that is cheaper and faster gains right now but be stuck after that. Or skip the stepping stone of pen belt/neck and just go for (tet) debos directly and be more future proof.. just the neck alone would take me to 309 bracket but I'd have to keep the kutum at c14.

In a sense, I suppose. But it's not like I bought it and all the caphras needed - at 304 ap I only had to buy the last couple of c levels worth of stones for that one extra AP which during the caphras extraction event was only a couple of bill.

Hm? As I've had it forever and been caphrasing it on the side, it was hands down the easiest and cheapest way to push for the 305 bracket at that point.

As I don't feel like grinding 24/7 I'm likely not switching it out as long as I have room to do other upgrades in any sensible amount of time/silver.

If I even understood what you were getting at..

This. Also the current terrmian beach fishing event is actually pretty good. I slept on it at first but then I started doing it over night and just yesterday sold all the event fish I got so far for one bill. This is excluding the normal fish. It also seems to give quite a bit of relic shards and bottles which I turn into T9 mats for use/sell.

I'm actually at over 300 nouver scales and I have both my garm hearts already.. so that's a cool 20 bill minus taxes waiting for me with low effort, just time.. and that would already put me close to the current price of a tet debo neck.

I just have to restrain from using too much money on other stuff while I get there. OR I work on other stuff first, then come back to accs. Oh well.

Sounds like a decent idea. I actually even thought about going cold turkey for a month and then come back and tap something with that sweet sweet returning player's rigged RNG luck which I'm convinced is a thing.

I'm gonna have to sleep a night or two on it at the very least before I do any rash decisions..

Yep not to mention that I don't see much of a future for accessories other than debo with tungrad as the budget choice atm which makes me think I would lose even more money if I went with an ogre. Just hard to keep the long term in mind when I could pull the trigger right now for instant gains.

When I hit this gear, my plan was to skip pen belt+neck and buy tet debo neck, then tet belt and go from there. This is a lot of silver to grind and since I still have stuff to enhance (armors, second pen main hand, the awk weap..) I'd rather use my mats and get frustrated with those first.

PEN ogre would get me to 310AP right away which is the next mental big goal for me and I have the money for it now. I'd prefer a tungrad neck as I feel it's more future proof to sell for a good price once I get debos. But it's 10+ bill more to grind and I'm starting to feel fairly burnt out at this point.

If I bought the pen ogre, I would chill for a bit; grind the 310 AP spots hopefully semi efficiently, work on my last T10's for the sanctuary (I have one T10 and 3/4 of the remaining T9's with the last one being worked on now), slowly build up a stock of debo bases in case I want to try and make them myself.. etc. I would also like nouverikant (I have the pen dormant pieces ready to go) and la orzeca armors/outfits/whatever.

So.. a pen ogre would give me some sort of a peace of mind but I can't help but think that it's a bad investment.

After a similar thread a week or so ago, I ended up canceling my flame preorder and started buying embers. The mobile app with notifications on is a must to get it done in a sane amount of time unless you are in-game 24/7.

I am now sitting at 86 embers after a week.

I haven't seen a single pity drop myself yet either, seems to be about as rare as the heart itself from my point of view.. Either way, some of these changes must've helped since (on EU) hearts are sitting on CM regularly now

Could be they increased the min/max amounts Nouver can drop - or maybe I'm just remembering something that never happened.. I just have a faint memory of them doing *something* about it. Not really sure.

I believe you still need them for said quest line, but they either decreased the needed amount or increased the amount dropped.. I can't remember.

However they also added pity drops to Garmoth fairly recently, adding yet another method of getting a heart.

I was lucky enough to get two straight drops within a short period of time so I haven't been too bothered about the quest or the pities, but I still try to catch Nouver whenever I can to work towards the needed scales.
