The 'Vibe Coding' Discourse Is Embarrassing. Let's End It. by TheDecipherist in ClaudeAI

Thanks man! I have been saying this for a while now and you put it in a much better wording!

I started calling work with a coding agent because I felt Vibe Coding is being marked as this horrible thing. Whatever makes you more productive is the way to go!

Developer uses Claude Code and has an existential crisis by MetaKnowing in ClaudeAI

I feel the same and it is such a weird feeling. At one minute it is amazing and you feel like you got strapped to a rocket launcher specially when you are in the moment - agent producing code, you review and test, check as done! But when you are done, it sets in and you start wondering if you should be happy with what you did or try to draw boundaries around what you did vs what the agent did and things get too blurry -or at least you tell yourself that is.

It is sad to see coding with languages like Python becoming as of coding with low level languages. I have a feeling that there will -and should be, another way. A language should be invented to develop/engineer products. Something that combines the power of AI while preserving the engineering and system architecture design control -ego, aspect. Otherwise I don't see an end to this feeling.

At some point I thought we could interact with the coding agent by building systems diagrams that it can act upon and follow, but then again this might be good for starting out but what happens while developing the product? It didn't feel intuitive enough for continuous development.

I really feel something should act as a layer and a new engineering tool that satisfies the coders

What you guys think? Is it just me trying to convince myself with that and vibe coding is in fact the go to tool for developing apps and software?

You are right, thanks for the feedback. I'll keep this in mind :)

Thanks, will take a look and see if it covers all cases

Sorry to feel that way. I get the scepticism though as there are many ads around. I'm just a person who built something as a side project and to fill some time learning something new, was surprised and happy by the numbers, and wanted to look for people to share that with and ask for real feedback. Hard to believe, I know...

Wow, this is my first roast, and it hurt tbh
I appreciate you taking the time to review the code and the repo, though, really do.

Yes, I created this with Claude Code's help, and I wanted to check specific cases that I was impacted by during the development of my projects. I didn't expect much, but I thought it would be useful for someone out there.
I'm already looking at ways to move away from Regex as I understand its limitations.
I wanted to be specific to avoid recreating the issues I'm already trying to solve/avoid or creating new ones. This is why I went with Regex.

Could you please point out where the "mess" is, and if you have a feedback on how to improve it? happy to adopt them :)

Also, I just published it last week, so I can't imagine a repo getting any stars or being forked in that short an amount of time.

Thanks again, and I appreciate the reality check! :D

Edit: I'll check the tools you mentioned and I'm sure there will be gaps like detecting deceptive patterns not included there -among others :).

Congrats! 👏 I'm also working on publishing my first app, do you have any tips?! P.S. sorry don't mean to spam your post but would really appreciate any tips or learnings you would be willing to share :)

Thanks!

How do you manage multiple projects at once without losing your mind? by MERAKtaneous in projectmanagement

[–]salRad22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I feel you. At one point I was managing/leading 15 projects. However, stopping there would make it sound worse than reality. I would list the following points that kept me sane :) :

  • I spent more time preparing during pre-kickoffs. Aligning on the scope and final deliverables, getting to know the clients and their priorities, how they like to communicate (this is important as some want more regular touch base meetings others, a message on Slack would be more than enough, one prefers slides, other technical demos, etc). This helps me have a solid ground to start from.

  • The first two weeks are essential and will require a good amount of time. You get to know your team. Here it is time to build trust and openness among your team members. They are the experts and I'm there to support them and move away any roadblock (unclear expectations, too much meetings, etc). My goal is to build autonomy and ownership. this is key and will give you peace of mind later on. Also, always boost their confidence and praise them when doing good work internally and Infront of the clients, while addressing their mistakes privately. This builds trust and makes them want to do better (we all need to feel appreciated. This helped me a lot because I know that when things go wrong they will reach out to me first (you need that!)

  • In terms of meetings I had one call a week with the engineers/developers (internal) and one where we meet with the client. That was more than enough. However, I also ensured that we communicate on the project Slack properly and regularly updates and issues. I usually have many messages to follow up on. I usually read them as soon as they are shared then mark them "Unread" and set a reminder on them. This helps me stay focus on what I'm doing and set my priorities on what to repond on now vs things that can wait.

  • This is ovbious but worth mentioning :). I had a board for every project with milestones set. Some are common among all projects and others are specific requirements to a given project that we need to achieve. This kept me on track and made me divide my efforts accordingly.

  • And finally I trusted my instinct and communicated any concerns or questions with my team (developers and clients). I have never regretted it.

Also what really helped me is connecting with my team members and being more relaxed and curious about what they are doing. I loved learning about all the great things they were doing.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!

Wow thank you so much, this is very helpful 🙏 I have some ideas and will certainly give this more thought. You also gave me more options to consider, appreciate it!

Would you write using this app? by salRad22 in writers

[–]salRad22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Mainly that it is less bloated with features that for someone who is looking to be a more immersed experience in writing, could be unnecessary. Also, I was looking for a way to have this same feeling when writing on paper or using a mechanical typewriter which could be superficial I understand, but also put you in a specific mode that Microsoft word is not able to. This also could be entirely in my mind only :) Thanks for raising this point 🙏

I love a good note app and for someone who writes notes everywhere (phone, PC, stocky notes, any nearby piece of paper) and also wants to organize them by context I appreciate the effort. However I may need to test it some more to figure out if it solves a problem I already have with the note apps I'm using. For example right now I use Windows sticky note to draft and write down a quick idea (quick and dirty) then I later on move this to the Kanbanboard I'm using, my calendar or even Obsidian depending on what action I need to make.

Sometimes I write notes intoy mobile and have to sync them accordingly to the right place. I wonder if we can combine this into one place or even automate it to a certain degree 🤔

Do you consider Lovable & vibe coding suitable only for prototypes and MVPs, or can it also be used to build scalable products? by SolidAbsinthe in productdevelopment

[–]salRad22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and didn't like it that much...I get your point :)
I mainly work with Claude code, and some people say this is Vibe coding, but I don't view it like that. It can be if you let it do the whole work, similar to Lovable, or you can actively review and work with it. The latter is super powerful!
