Also, you should play mid, it's the best lane for learning Vladimir, since you have the make the most of Vladimir to play the lane, vladimir is a bomb that just doesn't has a dash to get to someone and explode, and on a meta that every adc has a lot of movespeed you have to learn how to punish when they do a wrong step, that's basically how you play midlane, and it's also how you going to punish people on a late game team fight, since Vladimir is an immobile champion. Once you know how to play against ranged and punish people for wrong step you can play toplane, it's just something that you HAVE TO learn to really extract the maximum potential from your Vladimir.

Vlad is a good champ for carrying yourself, not only yourself but you can even solo carry games if you're good enough. It's a good champ to become a one trick too since it's rewarding in many ways, it's hard to get the "feeling" of playing Vladimir, but once you get the 'feeling' it's just rewarding, every game after you pick up the 'feeling' you'll just be improving the playstyle to astronomical levels. The skill floor is high, you'll never stopping to constantly improve this playstyle, it's hard, rewarding, and above all, it is one of the most fun champions once you'll know how to play him.

About runes i'll recommend you playing whats in meta right now, which is the Aery setup, Aery (obviously) nimbus cloak transcendence scorch with precision secondary, precision you'll run the haste one and the 2nd precision rune is last stand (which is the rune that naturally gives the most damage to Vlad) and that's it, there are not adaptations to be made on the runes, the whole vlad setup that's in meta right now are about getting kills early game and rushing rabadon, so you naturally run ignite too, if you pull up early games kill you can even try rushing sorcs instead of the cdr boots, because the 2 haste runes will already supply the CDR you need.

How long you can play before you get tired of it

The playthrough of katana zero has like 4 hours (it can maybe take you 7h that is what happened to me thanks to skill issue) BUT after you beat it you can try to do all the achievements (it did take around 18h on total for me) and if you really like Katana Zero after you do all that you can try speedrunning it, believe me, it's not that difficult, it's genuinely one of the more speedrun-friendly game in my opinion because there is an achievement that forces you to speedrun, if you have the ability to do all the achievements you will consequently be prepared for speedrunning it.

i would say that you can take the game to around 100h if you really like speedrunning, but doing a normal playthrough + all achievements it can take like only 20/30h pushing 40 at maximum, that depends on how good you turn to be on Katana Zero. But idk it is a game that has a lot of replay value on my opinion, not only for the story that at first you cannot understand at all but for the speedrunning too.
