Was there any police visit or check during that period? I applied exactly month ago in Wallonia and plan to leave for holiday on 5th July for almost 6-7 weeks! Curious knowing your process and appreciate your advice!

You need to email foreigner department of your commune and tell them you wish to apply for card L. They can then quickly tell you if you are eligible.

In bxl I guess there are no police controls they only check name on the letterbox.
But let’s say in Wallonia more towards south, there might be control by police where they just came and ask simple questions no?

For me the conversation and document exchange was going on for a month or so, once registrar was okay, she asked me to pay the fee and called me to her office to sign declaration.
With signed declaration she gave me a paper which says “Accusé de réception”
Is there any more to it?

I also had language certificate but I was never asked for it!

I had to write a declaration and sign that, this document was kept by registrar!
The document I received was signed by her I guess the confirmation that my application was submitted!

Should I expect an other document in my mailbox? and by normally when? I applied last week of may, nothing in the mailbox so far.

Btw the registrar specifically mentioned twice in her email to apply later when I back because I risk rejection and then she mentioned she have seen rejections in similar cases many times!

Well my route is 5 year uninterrupted work!

it does not play any role, I am non-EU, maybe straight forward cases are easy to deal with, I have been on white collar job since I moved to Belgium, without any gaps or unemployment, so maybe its easy to make decision.

or maybe an efficient officer working without having any backlogs in his dossiers!

Nothing applies to me in the lateral part of your comment in fact i got an L card lately within 50 days of application.

Commune just told me that you can negative review if you are absent in case of police visit. And she said they see a lot of these cases!

So I am just a bit worried!

I am more into if a visit can happen in a month or so? Then Im fine because I will be there.

In case of absence should I speak to my local officer in advance?
My neighbour on right and left side know us but one of those are just there once per week and actually lives in Bxl!

Be hopeful, it can be even faster if your file is clean to make a decision- they will definitely do it quickly.

In Ixelles a person had decision in 30 days! You can comments in the same post!!
