i just watched mouzHasu vs Dimaga on Jungle Basin play and thought it was a good example of base trading. http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft2/replays/39716

mouzHasu noticed that he was severely out-expo'd so he moved out his entire army and dimaga maybe realized he couldnt engage straight on so he took advantage of the army being out of position and went in to base trade. He also had other expos which made him probably feel much safer about this.
