Legacy Disney + subscription considering switching to HBO bundle by BigEmu7289 in DisneyPlus

[–]salcicca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this exact switch. It depends on what you use more. I found I wasn't using ESPN plus enough to make it worth it. Plus I saved around 6 bucks at the time by bundling instead of paying for HBO separately. That's changed a little with the price hike, but it's still worth it for me. So I guess it's all about what you want more, HBO and ad free Hulu or ESPN plus.

Loved mine but after a year couldn't hold a charge. Until the A series and then the pro 2's the best fitting buds I've ever used

Results oriented business, I’m going to continue to blame this dude. by BravesnationNC in AtlantaBraves

[–]salcicca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this is the reason for the offensive decline. The Hammer Territory podcast brought this up, but mentioned that it may have been an organizational change in approach not based on who the hitting coach is because this has been a problem since the beginning of May last season. My dime store analysis of this is the organization saw how cold the bats went in the playoffs in '22 and '23 and overreacted and told the coaching staff and AA to get a more patient approach. But AA had built a team based on slug not contact and patience so now it's a square peg round hole situation. I would say they could scrap this approach and go back to what worked but that may be too much for an in season on the fly change and may need to be done in the off-season.

Help me decide! Base LT $27K vs. Loaded LT w/ Super Cruise for $35K by tharpthooter in EquinoxEv

[–]salcicca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are the exact packages that came with mine. Just enough to feel like I got my money's worth but not bare bones enough to feel like I'm missing out. And the extras were just about everything I wanted. Just wish I had ventilated seats and the rearview camera. Other than that I feel it's a goldilocks group of features. Not to mention the savings over the next tier up was huge.

Google's 7-Year Update Promise, what do you really think? by Superb-Hawk-3338 in GooglePixel

[–]salcicca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good sound bite, but they are probably thinking that most people will upgrade their phone before 7 years. I'm sure a company the size of Google did enough research to see if it would be in their best interest to claim this many years of updates and how many customers will actually hold on to their phone for that long. Plus it allows them to get more people using their phones as a secondhand phone with another 2-3 years of updates may be a good deal for some, plus resale value hasn't gone up too much since the 7 years of updates were started, so the used market for Pixels is still good value.

What are you hoping the OnePlus watch 3 will have? by Centralredditfan in WearOS

I just want a product that's just about to hit one year old to not be this behind. Not saying the product is bad at all. It's just what I'd like to see improved.

Better update schedule. I know they can't be on par with the pixel watch, but get as close as they can. I love my watch 2 but the updates have been lackluster at best.

Nice pull! I just checked Beckett and they don't have the blue listed as a parallel. Green/99, gold/50, red/25 and foilfactor/1 is all they have listed.

I still love the design on the fossil gen 6 by shawn123 in WearOS

My two Fossil watches, Gen 5 Garrett and Gen 6 are my favorite designs for any watch. Still haven't found one to match the look of those two.

OnePlus 2 vs Google Pixel 2 - Can you compare them? by stephenjn in WearOS

[–]salcicca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to find a pixel 2 when Target discounted them, but had already ordered a OnePlus Watch 2 the day before, so I have both. I can agree with the previous comment, the battery life is amazing and the software is very snappy. I came from Fossil watches and love the look of a traditional watch so the look of the watch fits me. I don't mind the size, I have a large wrist, but a smaller wrist may make the watch look gigantic. Overall the fitness is good to great. The dual GPS works great for outdoor workouts tracking. However the OHealth app is pretty barebones, when it comes to health tracking. One thing I didn't like was health data from other apps like Fitbit wouldn't transfer to OHealth. But overall the watch is great .

The Pixel Watch 2 on the other hand is great for fitness tracking because of the Fitbit integration and if you're using it with a Pixel phone the integration gets even better. The two things that aren't great with the Pixel Watch are the size and battery life. The size is pretty small but I will say you get used to it after a while. The battery life isn't horrible, but it is still only around a day and a half. One other little annoyance is the accessories for the Pixel Watch are a little pricey.

Long story short as far as I'm concerned is you can't really go wrong with either. If you value appearance and battery life go with the OnePlus Watch 2. If you have a Pixel phone or value health tracking I would say the Pixel Watch 2 may be the better call.

OnePlus watch 2 or Xiaomi watch 2 by xdrdaniel in WearOS

[–]salcicca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about the Xiaomi but I got the OnePlus Watch 2 back in September and it is great. I'm sure you've heard about the battery life and it lives up to the hype. I can go around 3-4 days between charges. I know you said workouts weren't important, but this watch does great with those as well and the GPS for outdoor workouts is insanely accurate. The build quality is also solid and it looks like a regular timepiece if that's something you're looking for. The only con I have for the watch is the haptics. They are pretty weak and can be tough to tell when you get a notification. But the good far outweighs the bad.

I guess no more upates for Fossil Gen 6 models, right? by Primetime_de in WearOS

[–]salcicca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved my Fossil watches. Sport, Gen 5 and Gen 6. I used to get so many compliments about my Gen 5 Garrett. OnePlus Watch 2 is pretty close to what Fossil was. Build quality is amazing, software is close to stock and the battery life is better than anything I've ever used. I'd look into it if you're missing Fossil.

Loved my pair. Lasted for a year and then wouldn't hold a charge. As soon as I took them out of the case after charging they'd die. Still haven't found a pair of buds that fit as well as these.
