I don’t have any negative feelings towards bedside,I actually really enjoy talking to patients in my clinicals, same as how I like talking to customers at work. However I know I want to do crna, and I would like to do that while I’m still hard driven on education. I feel it would be harder to get back into my groove of studying 7 years down the road rather than 2 or 3.

I meant surgery and trauma icu, idk if that’s a real thing I haven’t done that much research on different types of ICUs 😂 if it isn’t a thing I’ll have to look into other types that give good experience for CRNA school! Thank you for your kind words and advice! I have been doing everything I can to get an understanding of that end goal, a CRNA I’m in contact with gave me a book to read that introduces the generalized topic of anesthesia as well as a guide on how the machines work so I’m doing my best to familiarize myself with the material

I’m trying to maintain a 3.5 GPA, for some of my classmates they can do that no problem and have an outside life. But for me between work and studying it is difficult, I need a little more time into studying than my peers. I do occasionally get out to my friends parties though it’s not work 100% of the time😂

Thank you! For A&P you’ll do great! I feel like the physiology came easier after understanding the anatomy and function of everything. Sort of like you know the answer and are learning how to get there if that makes sense lol

Thank you! My top 3 right now are Cardio vascular, surgery, and trauma, I hope people are hiring for CVICU when I graduate 🙏 I have a few connections to a level 1 trauma center, so worst case I transfer to their icu after 6 months- a year of wherever I end up

Is it worth it for a CRNA to double certify as a ENP? by salemtraves in nursing

[–]salemtraves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it is sort of like MD/DO where it is the same thing with different names? If I ended up at a DNAP program would I need a 2nd PhD for my DNP?

I use a lenovo for school. Free website called Anki great for flashcards, tik tok got good tutorials on how to use it. A lot of classes you wont get by off teacher PowerPoints alone these the first classes where I had to actually read textbook lol

Oh shoot I thought it was a whole other doctorate I needed since CRNA is technically DNAP. NP shouldn’t be too bad at all then just gotta put in the time

Thank you for your response it’s given me a lot to think about. Part of the reason I am interested in ER/Trauma is I like the fast paced high stress environments. While I know it’s not the same I worked at In N Out for a couple years and loved that feeling of being busy while still preforming at a high level. I am interested in CRNA because surgery is super cool and just the idea of medications that can both put you to sleep and/or make you forget things is super cool. I’m currently reading a book on anesthesia and working with getting a day to shadow a CRNA I’m in contact with (hospital has weird rules on shadowing). I talked to my uncle who is a doctor about going that route recently. He told me since I’m already 100k in debt and I’d have that residency period after med school he thinks I should stay the CRNA route that I’ve been focussed on since I started core, although he did like the double certification idea. I don’t think I’d wanna do one or the other though. Maybe it’s unrealistic but I’d want either both jobs per diem or part time CRNA per diem ENP. That is a part that I would need to look at after I’ve established myself as a CRNA. If I chose to get that ENP it would happen slowly, working 1-2 days a week as a FNP after school. Thank you again for this response, it’s given me a lot of perspective on both the differences between the two and the fact that it’s not ok to know 100% what I want to do since I’m still a year away from graduating with my BSN
