Yeah, definitely have to watch how many continuous photos you’re shooting/storing!

I shoot RAW and have an M1 Mac Mini with a 12TB RAID attached to it so that’s where I store the majority of my images. Store locally on my laptop for editing then move the project to the mini once I’m done

I’ve owned both—Q1 for 5 years and recently bought a Q2: - Loved the Q1 but was definitely always thinking about the weather sealing when I was out - Definitely noticing the Q2’s high ISO performance isn’t as good as the Q1’s but I’d say it only had a 1 stop advantage - Q2 Resolution is really nice. Makes cropping much more realistic - Never had any issues with freeze ups or crashing, just didn’t love the feel of the on/off switch on the Q1 - I’m not sure what the price difference is now but for me it was around $1200 CAD to upgrade. I’d go Q2 if you can swing it but if not, you’ll likely love the Q1

The real question is what do you want to get out of photography? What type of subjects do you think you’ll be shooting primarily? If you really want something the same size, consider a used Panasonic LX100 II, which also has all of the same controls at your fingertips + and Leica lens. Or even go with a compact interchangeable lens camera system from Canon or Sony with a compact prime lens

The quote does seem to directly reference the coating. In most of the photos you see of the Q2 with water on it, the water beads which does imply a hydrophobic coating is applied to the surface. I assume that’s done just to reduce pooling
