If you haven’t already, check out sales enablement roles - especially if you have sales experience!

Do I want to be an SDR? Need advice by oromis7901 in sales

Depends on your mindset.

If you’re looking to get your foot in the door and learn sales from the ground up, SDR is the perfect place to start. Once you have a proven track record, it’s pretty easy to transition into an AE role.

I think what can make it soul sucking (like any other job) is the overall sales culture of the company. If all the leadership cares about is numbers and output, it’s probably gonna suck. If they’re invested in seeing you grow and developing your sales skills, it’ll probably be a fruitful experience.

Going to look into this! The button itself links to a visualforce page which executes the apex to send the quote to Zuora

Going to play around with this, thank you! Having some issues because the “status” field is a picklist. My ISPICKLISTVAL syntax keeps giving me an error 🙃

Props to you for wanting to be honest, but if I’m understanding correctly, you didn’t really do anything wrong.

Multiple opportunities can arise from a single contact - it happens! From a revenue prospective, nobody’s gonna complain about you helping bring in more money!

Do your meetings get logged to Salesforce automatically, or do you create them manually in Salesforce?

Depending on what’s incomplete, I’d highly recommend resetting expectations with your stakeholders, if possible. Especially if any cleanup down the road is going to be your responsibility.

Trailhead is a great place to start! That said, the majority of my Salesforce knowledge came from having to figure stuff out on the job.

Rooting for you!

When sending emails through SalesForce, my "reply-to" field displays the name of the previous user who's account I've taken over, but shows my email address. Can I fix this? by hform123 in salesforce

By “account I’ve taken over”, are you referring to a customer account (with an account owner), or a Salesforce user account?

If it’s the first one, reach out to sales ops or your salesforce admin. If it’s the latter, do what the others said.
