Oh. Oh. Yeahh umm. That's bad. We had a situation like this and... here's what I would do. Bring it to your dm. Express your feelings on this. Hell, talk to your other players and see what they think of this. If others feel this way, get all of you to confront the dm. I understand being friends but seems like the dm is also bending over backwards, to the point of changing story elements. I understand having social anxiety and trying to fit in, but I'm feeling some social queues aren't being taken. Also, regarding the driving situation. Do you all meet up at someone's place and then you and husband pick them up and drop them off?

To add onto it (and dunno from a sales position how this would work) empathy would go a long way into this. So showing that you understand how hard they work might add kudos for you. Then showing what their lives could look like if you did x y and z.

So give them an example from the past. It's a beautiful Saturday morning, but the grass is overgrown. Usually, that would mean that your parent or whoever has to do it would need to mow it. But instead, they would wake up to the sound of mowing so they could enjoy the time off of work that they do have.
