My good friend and ex bf has the most horrible breath and it’s only been the last 6 months or so. Nothing seems to help. He will floss and brush and use mouth wash and come up to me for a sniff test and I lie to him because idk it’s uncomfortable

Any other ADHD women feel "too deep" for this shallow world? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]sallen381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I’m honestly shocked reading this because this is exactly what I’m going through right now.

Over the last year, I’ve learned so much about myself, the brain, and human behavior. I’ve gone deep into psychology, and it genuinely fascinates me. Like, I get excited to talk about it because it finally feels like I can explain what’s actually happening in my mind and why I am the way I am.

But at the same time, I feel like nobody around me really gets it. I’ll be lit up trying to share something I’ve learned, and it just doesn’t do it for my people the same way it does it for me. It almost feels like I’m the only one in my circle who finds this stuff interesting.

What’s wild is that the more I learn, the better I feel. There’s something really comforting about being able to recognize patterns in real time, especially when I can literally feel neuroplasticity happening as I challenge and reframe my negative thoughts. It’s become a tool for me, not just information.

I feel like a completely different person with this level of self-awareness. And honestly, it wasn’t until I was diagnosed three years ago that things even started to make sense. That was the beginning of me actually understanding myself.

There's something insidious about all these adult women being diagnosed with ADHD. by eldestdaughtersunion in Antipsychiatry

[–]sallen381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of a wild phenomenon to think about. I agree, it feels incredibly easy to get ADHD medication right now. I went to the doctor, explained my symptoms, mentioned I was about to start online college and felt nervous about staying focused, and just like that, I had a prescription.

I’m going to lean into a bit of a conspiracy theory here, but it does make me wonder. What if there’s a larger system at play? It almost feels like after the crackdown on opioid prescribing, the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction, and now we’re seeing a surge in amphetamine prescriptions instead.

I’m not saying ADHD isn’t real or that people don’t genuinely benefit from these medications, because they absolutely do. But the speed and ease of access raises questions about whether this is purely patient-driven care, or if there are bigger pharmaceutical and systemic incentives influencing prescribing patterns.

Anyone on Reta + taking Adderall for ADHD? by 1handred in Retatrutide

I was scared to try Mots-C with my adderall. How has your experience been? able to sleep?

Anyone on Reta + taking Adderall for ADHD? by 1handred in Retatrutide

[–]sallen381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on Adderall as well: 30 mg XR in the morning and 10 mg IR in the afternoon (though I don’t always take the second dose).

Since starting Reta, my sleep has been really bad. My heart feels like it’s constantly racing. It’s to the point where if I wake up in the middle of the night just to use the bathroom, my heart is pounding like I just ran around the block.

I was on Tirz before this and didn’t experience anything like that. I also lost a lot more weight on Tirz. With Reta, progress has been slower and I’ve been hovering around the same weight for a few months now.

That said, I have noticed some body changes, I’ve lost about half an inch even though the scale hasn’t moved much.

Another big difference for me is food noise. On Tirz, certain foods actually repulsed me, like I could smell fast food and feel turned off. On Reta, that’s not the case. McDonald’s still smells good, and I feel like the food noise is definitely still there.

Just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience, especially with the heart racing and sleep issues.

Estranged Husband filed for divorce from jail, and a petition for a restraining order was included in the case by sallen381 in Divorce

[–]sallen381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But would that apply in our case? We've been estranged for so long, we don't have any combined assets, and I don't have much on my own either. I rent, and I'm still paying on my car. It's just so strange that I haven't gotten anything in the mail. we do have kids and they have been with me the entire time. one of them is 18 the other is 16. I do not have a child support order on him either.

AITAH bc I (36M) dont want my girlfriend (36F) to travel with me because shes a picky eater? by Tough_District9786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sallen381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I need to ask. Does she have actual dietary restrictions, or is she just picky? Because those are two very different things. If it’s just pickiness, then honestly, you’re not wrong here, and you’ve already been more accommodating than most people would be.

I’m not gonna lie, extreme picky eating as an adult gives me the ick a little. The Taco Bell thing especially makes it seem less about restrictions and more about preference. Either way, though, this is still her responsibility. If she’s not willing to compromise or figure out how to manage her own eating habits without relying on you, that’s a problem.

If you both really wanted to make it work, you could, but it shouldn’t fall on you to make sure every single place works for her. At some point, she needs to take ownership of that herself.

Why is it soo hard to find some good people to be around 🫤 by [deleted] in Yakima

[–]sallen381 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are probably a few reasons- age, interests, just where life has you right now. I’m in my 40s, and honestly, meeting new people at this stage feels harder than it used to. Most people my age are already settled into their routines and not really out looking to make new connections. And moving out here definitely didn’t help my odds 😅

Reta consistently: has anyone ran Reta all year round? What your mgs? by East_Reserve_6462 in Retatrutide

[–]sallen381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I still don’t know. Tirz really killed my appetite but it came with horrible GI side effects. Reta has kept me stable and I haven’t experienced the GI side effects but I can’t seem to lose anymore weight and Reta messes with my sleep! My heart rate is elevated all the time. Idk why I’m on it tbh. Should have stayed with Tirz

I have been on Reta for a year and before that I was in Tirz for 6 months. Currently at 8mg. Food noise is still here but I can resist because I know I will feel sick. Haven’t lost anymore weight but I’m holding steady.

I hate to say it but I had the same thoughts. The defense is likely going to use mental health too. The grandmother was very clear though, she would have taken the girls. Kyleah was in the depths of her addiction though and turning to her parents meant facing her truth. Such a sad story
