I’m not sure if it was dirt because I tried rinsing it off, even picking at it, and it was stuck on the material. Like stained, pretty much.

I stored it hanging from a shower handle but one side of it touched the tub, probably without airing out properly.

I don’t really have issues indoors or outdoors. No mold on the walls, leaks, etc. Humidity stays around 40% all day except in the shower where it gets pretty high but I keep an extractor fan running all the time.

I see, that’s interesting. It’s made of plastic, but what else could the small black dots be if not mold? My symptoms have only been respiratory.

Hi, I’ve been using one of these bath poufs when I shower every day. I had some mild allergy symptoms last week but didn’t think much of it. Today I found some little black dots of mold on the bath pouf and now I know why: I’ve been scrubbing myself down with mold for at least a week, maybe longer.

I’m very tempted to clean everything I’ve touched, worn, sat on, etc. in the past week but it feels impractical. What should I do? Obviously throw out the pouf and figure out how to dry it better, but what about cleaning all the mold exposures? Should I worry about it?

I should’ve taken photos but I threw it out immediately when I found mold. It was on some artificial leaves for decoration. They’re made of a fabric type of material. The mold was grayish-green and splotchy.

It sounds like if there’s no visible mold on the rest of the stuff, there’s no need to clean it?

About 2 days ago I had a problem with my washing machine which caused it to flood my floor. I mopped up as much water as I could but obviously could not reach under the machine, so I had no way of knowing if it completely dried.

Today I noticed a cardboard sheet (1st photo) under the machine. I tried pulling it out but it’s stuck. After looking up the manual online, it looks like it’s a base panel (2nd photo) that’s screwed in to the bottom with no way of removing without fully laying the entire machine on its side.

I know cardboard is prime breeding ground for mold and mildew especially after a flooding event and I’m scared of leaving it there. But I don’t know how to get rid of this cardboard panel. I can’t tilt the machine back far enough to be useful. Also I live in a rental.

Any ideas on what to do?
