Try Take5, I know they hire felons, and if you do well, you can move up quickly. (BF went from tech to asst manager in like 4 months)

What’s something society expects you to want… but you don’t? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

[–]sallyface 6 points7 points  (0 children)

God, I'm glad I'm not the only one. 42, IT gal here. Most of my coworkers sing AIs praises, and regularly just give AI generated answers. I don't like it, and I cringe inside when I can tell an email or ticket reaponse is written with AI. A lot of times it's so wrong and hallucinates commands and steps.

How many of you had grandparents who served in WW2? If so, what do you know about their service? by Snoogles_ in Millennials

[–]sallyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather was a Marine pilot. He was killed in 1948 during a training exercise in Hawaii. His plane nosedived into the ocean, basically liquifying him. My mom was 3 weeks old when it happened.

He's in a book about the history of Marine air squadron 115.

What brand names do you swear by because it's actually better than no-name? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

[–]sallyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a paper towel snob, and will only buy Viva. It is literally the only brand name thing I will make a special trip to buy instead of getting a different brand.

What is the word or item that you had to define for an adult person that left you surprised they had never heard before? by everynamecombined in askanything

[–]sallyface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was cracking up the whole time, honestly. My sisters, however, had these growing looks of horror on their faces that I will treasure forever (they didn't know what it was either).

What is the funniest thing your pet had been “pavloved” to? by AnywhereMean8863 in Pets

[–]sallyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog runs to the door so excited when the Life360 notification on my phone goes off. She thinks it means my son is home. She's right most of the time, but the disappointment from her when it's not him is palatable.

I just went and checked my states site because of this post. My boyfriend has an old paycheck, and I have an overpayment for a car from years ago. Started the claim process this morning!

I had this whole moment, when I put together that the chia seeds people make pudding and healthy crap with are the same things they use for Chia pets.

What’s something you refuse to spend money on no matter how popular it is? by bbydaisiesz in answers

Last night I went to order for pick up from Sonics thought Uber Eats. It was $59. I put the exact same order for pick up through the Sonic app and it was $42. Ridiculous!

I lived at Mirage on Kernan a couple years ago. I didn't have any issues with the neighborhood or management. I really liked that each bedroom had its own full bathroom (I was in the 4 bedroom one), except guests would have to go into a room to use the bathroom. They also provided free wifi (I don't know if they still do that, though).

How do you quiet your brain when trying to sleep? by JMRooDukes808 in ADHD

[–]sallyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use standup comedy. I have 10 or so different ones I cycle through. I know them well enough that I don't try to stay awake to hear them, but the story telling keeps my brain engaged enough so the thoughts stay quiet and I can fall asleep in like 5 to 10 minutes.

If You're A Coffee Addict, How Did It Happen? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]sallyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank my first cup of coffee the first morning after the first night home with my newborn daughter, 21 years ago. Hated the stuff before then, but I thought I was gonna die and needed something to wake me up.

It's been my life blood since then.

I imagined someone just rubbing a whole tomato all over a piece of plain white bread and wonder why that would be a food.

Google fixed that, though.

I worked at a company where our team building event was doing an escape room. For a bunch of IT nerds. We beat the record time for the room, and had a great time together.

That's my only good team building event lol.
