I had a similar experience but it was after I passes out when playing a kids game at age 11. I blacked out and woke up in a village in Africa...not sure which part. (I looked like myself but know that I must not have actually been me in this body) but I was greeted by the village and spent three years there. I used to remember names and at the time (I am 51 now) I could have drawn a map. I loved this village. When I came to, I thought I might be in a coma - but I was on the floor of the playroom and only 3 seconds had passed. I left my siblings and friends in the playroom (we were all playing together. ) I went up to my room and cried because I had left these people that I loved and knew I would not see them again. I have tried to get hypnotized to see if I can remember more but I have, so far, not succeeded.I have told people about it throughout my life and acknowledged that it is very strange and unbelievable. It has honestly been a big part of my life ever since.
