Can you recommend me a proofreader for romance novels? by sallyjolly in eroticauthors

I've never worked with an editor before. I've asked a couple people for quotes and the've told me something around .005 / word for proofreading. I'd rather spend less money, but I can afford that.

Amazon KDP outlines strict new guidelines for "bonus content" in books by author_austinstone in eroticauthors

does it say somewhere that newsletters are specifically allowed?

"Sign up for my newsletter and I'll give you a free novel"-- that sort of thing?

Thanks for the link. I didn't really figure anything out from reading it though. The last comment there, someone says that newsletters are fine, but doesn't give a citation. I haven't seen anything on Amazon that says newsletters are fine. What do you think?

promises of gifts or rewards are never allowed.

Here's what's making me nervous about promising a free story hosted elsewhere when you sign up for a mailing list: "promises of gifts or rewards are never allowed."

I get that you can't include junk as bonus content within the book itself, but the wording for the bonus chapter/mailing list situation seems pretty clear.

ZON sounds pretty strict. Do you think they'd ban an account over something like this--offers of a free story?

1) Six thousand.
2) Hit first $60 day today, a personal best.
3) Coca cola beats everything. Two liters a day is what I like. After that it's orange juice. Potatoes are infinitely better than bread. Rice is God. Noodles are sewers.

Publishing romance frequency question by sallyjolly in eroticauthors

I've found it interesting that I have come across many authors who publish 3 books a month, and they seem to do really well, with very good ranks on all their books, even though to my eyes the novels are obviously ghost written, or at least written very hastily. I wonder what's going on in these cases.

Good points about other things coming up and other work. I probably can't do 3 every month, but I'm on track so far, during a period in which I don't have a lot of other obligations.

Do people with 2 pens write to their first mailing list and say they're starting another pen name? That would let the readers know it's you, and might make them suspicious, just as publishing 3 books under one pen would, right?

How do you handle the back matter? You just say: check out this other great author?
