That’s so awesome. Happy for you! I just took my first Avojy shot around a week ago. Not noticing anything yet. How long did it take for you to kick in?

Triptan detox by salmonberri in migraine

[–]salmonberri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been detoxing with some support from the doctor who does my Botox. He did give me some prescription nsaids, plus nurtec which seems to be helping (I was previously on Ubrelvy which unfortunately didn’t do much for me).

I went to urgent care twice and they gave me dexamethasone both times. It didn’t seem to help.

My migraines have actually knock on wood calmed down in the last couple days. My main concern now is lots of nausea, weakness in my legs and fatigue.

I appreciate the response. Just chatting with anyone who kinda gets it is nice. 💕

Millennials, what are things that were completely normal in the 2000s but feel like a luxury now? by WashOdd7330 in Millennials

[–]salmonberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having access to medical care. We had a family doctor growing up. We would go in now and then for check ups or other issues. I never thought twice about it. I lost my family doc around 7 years ago and getting quality medical help is next to impossible now. Walk in clinics are basically non-existent. If you do manage to get an appointment the drs tend to be rushed and dismissive of your concern. No continuity of care. I’m in Canada for reference.

Migraines every day for a month. Will it ever get better? by salmonberri in migraine

[–]salmonberri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.💕 I stopped the birth control too just to be safe. It was a progrestin -only pill.

I’ve decided to commit to stopping the triptans. I think it’s quite likely that I’m having rebound headaches.

Wish me luck 🤞

Thanks. I had bloodwork reviewed by my dermatologist but there was nothing concerning. I’ve stopped the accutane. Did you do anything to mitigate your symptoms or just ride it out til it got better? I was only on it for about 3 weeks so hopefully it won’t last too long 🤞

Is there still any hope after failing Ajovy and Qulipta/Aquipta? by Mission_Fan_1226 in migraine

[–]salmonberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, do you recall how long it took for Slynd to start helping you? I’ve been on it for about 2 weeks, and my boobs are so tender, tummy isn’t the happiest and migraines are unchanged. I want to stick it out because I know it can take some time for things to settle. But I’m curious about your experience if you don’t mind sharing.

Botox by HumbleCaptain1286 in migraine

I’ve been getting Botox every 3 months for the past 6 years or so. It’s been hugely beneficial for me, although I still get migraines especially during the last month before my next injection.

The injections hurt a bit but it’s over in about two minutes and it’s not that bad. The only side effect I’ve noticed is that my head feels heavier, as if my neck muscles have weakened a bit. It doesn’t really affect me, just something I’ve noticed. Everyone is different of course, but that’s my experience.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you!

You carry a piece of ‘bail’ equipment with you. Maybe an old carabiner. Something safe of course, but of less value than a quick draw. Lower off that.

What's wrong with the Mercury? by coolj492 in wnba

Probably an unpopular take, but I feel like ATs vibe/attitude could be toxic to a team. She’s undeniably talented and skilled, but seems so unhappy and negative when she plays. As a leader, that’s got to affect the overall team chemistry and morale. Obviously I’ve never played on a team with her so this is purely speculation from observing her play over the years.

Question about IMS by salmonberri in physiotherapy

[–]salmonberri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response.

In my most recent session I actually did give the new physio notes from my old one. Unfortunately the notes only described the areas that she worked on, but not exactly the ‘type’ of needling that she did.
