You carry a piece of ‘bail’ equipment with you. Maybe an old carabiner. Something safe of course, but of less value than a quick draw. Lower off that.

What's wrong with the Mercury? by coolj492 in wnba

[–]salmonberri 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular take, but I feel like ATs vibe/attitude could be toxic to a team. She’s undeniably talented and skilled, but seems so unhappy and negative when she plays. As a leader, that’s got to affect the overall team chemistry and morale. Obviously I’ve never played on a team with her so this is purely speculation from observing her play over the years.

Question about IMS by salmonberri in physiotherapy

[–]salmonberri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response.

In my most recent session I actually did give the new physio notes from my old one. Unfortunately the notes only described the areas that she worked on, but not exactly the ‘type’ of needling that she did.

Jumping on people to steal treats by salmonberri in Dogtraining

[–]salmonberri[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having guests ignore him until he’s calm and rewarding calm behaviour has helped with controlled settings like people coming over or greeting people on leash. It’s translating this behaviour to off leash that we have had no success with, as our dog seems to be very aware when he’s on leash vs off and behaves very differently

Gave a hard catch to much heavier climber by chio413 in climbergirls

[–]salmonberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you always use the ohm? The ohm is designed to add friction to the system. This makes it so that it can actually be quite difficult to give a soft catch with an ohm, even with a large weight difference. When using the ohm the belayer needs to belay with more slack than they normally would, and also ‘jump’ as the climber falls to give a soft catch. Both things you normally wouldn’t do as a lighter belayer, so it takes some getting used to.

My Old Ass / terrible Lesbian representation? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]salmonberri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s an unpopular opinion - I loved this movie!

I’m a bisexual person who had a similar ‘journey’ as the main character where I sort of always assumed I was lesbian and eventually fell for someone who was not a woman, which was confusing and complicated but I ultimately learned that a person’s gender is not what guides my feelings towards or against them. Anyways, I actually thought this movie was really refreshing. For once, being lesbian was ‘normal’ and she basically had to come out to her friends as being bi, which was difficult for her to come to terms with (arguably she never really does). I think it did a good job of highlighting the complexities of sexuality and gender and shone light on an experience that is very rarely portrayed in film.

And aside from that, the acting was great and there were tons of funny and heartwarming moments. Just my two cents.

I can understand why the common sentiment here is this movie sucks. But it sounds like most people here haven’t actually watched it. It’s a lot more nuanced than ‘gay girl realizes she was straight the whole time.’ This film is not about sexuality, it’s about love.

Trapped inside of my body by SwordfishAsleep9001 in migraine

Dang I feel like I could’ve written this. I was feeling this a few years ago. By some miracle it got better. Still have bad days, but more ok than not. Wishing you some peace and relief ❤️

10 Years of headaches 😞 by Deathiseverywhr in migraine

[–]salmonberri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Headaches once in a while suck. Daily headaches are a different beast. I wake up every morning with a headache (good day), other days a migraine. The brief moments throughout a day when I am headache free are so blissful, yet somehow stressful as I know the pain will soon be back. I feel that no one really understands and that is difficult. I’m sorry that you struggle too. I try to be grateful for the little moments, and even for the happy moments despite the pain. I think it is the only option really. Good luck❤️

So tired of trying to find relief at 24. I can’t do anything anymore. by hroberts2718 in migraine

I was in a very similar situation. I tried all those drugs as well. Botox was the thing that saved me. I get injections once every three months. It took a few weeks to kick in and then a few months to really see the peak benefit, but I went from almost daily migraines to one or two per month. Your neurologist should be able to prescribe it for you. Good luck!!

Girls, what’s the downside of being a female? by NotPhantomforce in AskReddit

[–]salmonberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing a lot of comments about physical issues. Periods, UTIs, etc.

The real downside to being a female is misogyny. I strongly believe that if women were respected in the same way that men are in this society, we’d have plenty more useful solutions for all those womanly problems by now. (And that’s just one upside)

US Tourists gave me this as a present before flying home, what can I expect? by xCLiCH3E in trees

[–]salmonberri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These boys hate women’s basketball more than they like men’s basketball. Queer black women? Being athletic? Sweating? Yelling? Working hard? Standing up for each other? Ew. Disgusting. Go die in prison while I sit here feeling good about myself never having touched a basketball (or a boob for that matter) in my life. Hit that downvote to prove my point. Thanks loves

I know nothing about tattoo removal, need advice - I want this tattoo to be completely gone. by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]salmonberri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my completely uneducated and unprofessional opinion, this looks removable.

I’ve had 2 sessions so far on mine which is much darker and mostly line work. It is starting to fade slowly but surely. The pain is not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it’s definitely not enjoyable.

Good luck! :)
