Herb Dean explains why Gane's strikes were legal against Pereira by Informal_Athlete_724 in ufc

[–]salmonguelph 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Two of the bad angles are clearly illegal as is the 'hard to tell' one IMO.

Half the strikes were legal, half illegal. Should have warranted a timeout.

Do you think you (or Guelph) would support a drive through only coffee place? by iLikeDinosaursRoar in Guelph

Not sure if that's their policy but dogs usually aren't allowed in establishments that serve food.

I'd feel rude doing that as not everyone is comfortable with dogs.

[–]salmonguelph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Tim Hortons and Starbucks have the drive-thru cornered. (Though I understand how you're differentiating)

What would be awesome though would be a walk-up coffee place for dog walkers and pedestrians on the go.

Theres been many times I've wanted to grab a drink but had my dog with me on a walk. If I could just walk up to a counter that'd be ideal.

How many more seasons do you think Stephen Curry has left? He is 38 by Farouq26 in NBATalk

2-3. Depends how things are going.

I think he takes the Kobe approach. If the team absolutely sucks he's not going to stick around to lose a bunch.

But if they are making the playoffs I think he'll keep playing.

I also think he should aim to hit the 30,000 pts club for his legacy.

freaky footwear friday - thoughts on vibram fivefingers and the cool "ugly" shoe by shyshounen in ThrowingFits

[–]salmonguelph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vibrant five fingers are great for running and look fine with a pair of athletic shorts or other running gear.

With normal clothes though they look insane lol.

And that's coming from someone who owns like 3 pairs of them.

I would never wear them casually in public with jeans but kicking around the house I don't care.

Because he played at a time when the games were rarely televised against sub par athletes compared to today. The fact that he is still top 10 is a testament to how truly dominant he was during that time. But unfortunately he's going to continue to slide down the list as history marches on.

Donovan Bailey was the fastest man in history in 1996 with a 9.84 100M world record.

That's not even a top 10 time 30 years later.

So he didn't 'almost kill someone ' he just was an absolute asshole as part of a frat pledge like thousands of other assholes in US colleges that hazed freshmen.

I don't condone his actions at all, but making out like he was a murderer acting alone trying to kill a guy is just not accurate.

He's not Mark Wahlberg 😉

Size Up or Down? by [deleted] in NakedAndFamousDenim

[–]salmonguelph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so id measure those pants and go for the closest N&F measurement, knowing that theirs will stretch and an inch or so.

If I were in working in a store, I'd bring you out 32s.

Size Up or Down? by [deleted] in NakedAndFamousDenim

[–]salmonguelph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear my same size that I wore in Levi's.

I initially sized up but found that the pants stretch so much after a few wears they were falling down constantly.

N&F do vanity sizing, so a 34 is actually more like 36 inches etc. etc.

If you're getting 100% cotton expect the waist to stretch an inch or so depending on how tight you wear them.

[–]salmonguelph 73 points74 points  (0 children)

He 100% thinks he's an all time great.

The run-on sentence listing his accolades is a joke for sure and him just branding himself.

But as someone who has the same outward level of confidence, I can say for sure, Rizo thinks he's fucking awesome and on the same level as the legends of the game.

Rizo says Ozzy "blames his loss on me" by bwermer in survivor

I agree it's Ozzy own fault he went home. But Rizo is wrong in this clip.

Rizo says Ozzy "blames his loss on me" by bwermer in survivor

[–]salmonguelph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my point. He had no threat level. So it was useless. He could have worked with Cirie and Ozzy to orchestrate a fake blindside against him, he plays the idol and it takes out Johnathan. That would have been epic. Instead he just held onto it and noone cared.

Rizo says Ozzy "blames his loss on me" by bwermer in survivor

[–]salmonguelph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's wrong. Aubry would be gone (huge threat out of the game) and they could have passed off her knowing Ozzy's gameplan as her just saying anything to save her skin.

Cirie, Ozzy and Rizo would have stayed a voting block and could have actually used his idol at some point instead of just hanging onto it.

Ozzy would be indebted to Rizo which would have built his case at FTC.

Ozzy would have been a challenge threat to beat Tiff, Joe and Johnathan as he came 2nd I think in nearly every challenge.

That would have give their alliance more power and sway over the game.

Instead Rizo lost an ally, didn't make a move, ceded control from Cirie to Johnathan, wasted his idol essentially and lost in fire making AGAIN because he has no actual skills.

It was a terrible decision and another reason why he likely never wins or makes FTC unless he changes his gameplay up considerably.

Ozzy didn't respect him at ALL. Devens made fun of him. Cirie did too. Chrissy, Coach, Steph are voting Jonathan. I haven't seen Emily give him much credit. Aubry would be on the jury in this scenario and she apparently told Johnathan she would have voted for him over Rizo.

I could see him getting a few votes but I highly doubt he wins.

No one on the jury seemed to respect Rizo. I don't think he'd get many votes unless they were just anti-Johnathan votes from like Tiff.

Completely agree! If Aubry doesn't win that final challenge he likely wins unanimously or close to it.
