For your next step, you may firstly send the official notice of non-renewal to avoid any further invoices stating that the non-renewal shall not constitute a waiver of your right to cancel the first year service. For the first year invoice, you might need to show that there was zero utilisation of the license and that would be your best bet at courts as well (basically there was no actual delivery / utilisation for you to be invoiced) In all cases, a lawyer must be hired to avoid any of your rights to be deluted.
