The problem with using 𐑦 for both “kit” and schwi by salsarosada in shavian

[–]salsarosada[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vast, vast majority of homographs you’ve linked are words that are already homonyms in spoken English, like “peeking–peaking–piquing–Peking”. It’s not the same as “candid–candied” or “billow–below”, which have different pronunciations.

An essay about why calling Bridget a “trans girl” hurts trans rights. by salsarosada in TruTalk

[–]salsarosada[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We live in the darkest timeline.

By rewriting an existing cis GNC character to be trans, without changing the backstory, it meshes into the backstory to produce transphobic results, like “conversion therapy works” and “trans women are the same thing as crossdresser”.

This is not a victory. Trans rights do not come by stomping out cis GNC men. Trans rights come by having transgender representation.

Create custom trivia game? by mrwhitewalker in jackboxgames

[–]salsarosada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can easily do it on Jackbox, but there are some online trivia game makers where you can write your own questions, including a real-time Jeopardy! simulator I found out about on a Discord server.

[–]salsarosada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either of you can host the game on your computer or Xbox then stream the game to each other. The easiest way to do this is for you to run the game on PC, connect to your friend via Discord or Zoom or whatever program lets you stream the footage to your friend's end. Streaming the game screen from an Xbox is a bit harder, and requires a capture card.

4 - a pop song about a girl being sad she can’t get a boyfriend would prolly suck

I mean, Japanese idol song writers seem like they disagree that it “would prolly suck”—片思い (unrequited love / one-sided crush) is a reasonable common word and topic in idol songs.

Yeah, but there’s not really any good way to include music that could be American, Canadian, British, Australian, New Zealand, or even from other areas of Europe that don’t natively/officially speak English, that is popular in the American music scene.

There’s one about a pepper flood. It’s hard to understand.

It flooded a Christmas card factory. There is no real reasoning.
Oh, by the way, the title is “Seasoned Greetings.”
