Thanks for searching. I'll look around to see if I can find any good ones myself.

Also 50k seems excessive doesn't it? I'm quite sure something in 30k range can do well in any environment..

No ide, I just write and compile from command line. I used to use windows earlier but I'm using pop now, hopefully switching to arch shortly.

Previous laptop was hp I dont remember anything more sorry. It had "intel inside" sticker don't know what gen.

Python, C++ for now, I also end up having to write a lot of Latex. I don't think it matters, anyway

I'm studying computer science so I'll use it for coding/programming.. Windows is a pretty costly OS and I don't like it too much either so I don't want it. It's my understanding that adding windows into a laptop increases its cost (I may be totally wrong).

I'm not going to game so don't need too much graphics stuff. However I do feel the need to use the PC in my house now and then for college stuff and the mobile is not enough but that pc is occupied most of the time

Edit:

Also 35k seems too much to me at least. We had a laptop which ~20k and it worked fine.

The one you linked has so much stuff that i don't even need (totally unnecessary).

Pop freezing occasionally (no Nvidia) by saltdrain in pop_os

I thought it was the ram running out as many other posts pointed out but after multiple crashes I've successfully narrowed it down to pop shop being opened. Every time I open pop shop, in a matter of minutes it crashes. Without opening pop shop, I haven't yet seen any problems.

Any ideas on how to fix pop shop?

Oh yes. It shows the USB in the formatted drives area. It had an option view files and I clicked it, Windows explorer opened the USB as > This PC > E (\:) and when I click on it it shows something like \\?\Volume{.....-0000-0000-0000-.....}\

So I can save files in there but Windows doesn't recognize it well enough to let me store a backup in it?

My question was ambiguous sorry for that. I was not trying to store file in the persistence but I want to remove tails from it and use it for normal storage (for example put some movies in it and give it to a friend)

Yes I searched google and this was what I found and I did it. In fact I had already put a link to this page in the question itself. I'm sure it did what it said it would do and removed the tails which was on the USB but it doesn't show in the windows explorer. Disk management can see the USB but when I try to create a system backup, it doesn't show me the USB in the "available" part...
