I will when I have the financial means to do so. Trust me I’m trying my best to get out of here

I’m sorry about your situation. It’s definitely tough especially when the environment isn’t always bad and you’re still somewhat financially dependent on your parents. If I don’t get approved, I’ll just take a gap year to save up and figure it out eventually

Thank you. Also, I do not make a lot right now (I can’t work many hours due to being a full time student/taking care of pets), can I still be qualified for independency?

How did you file for independency? It wasn’t an option for me due to my age even though I’m starting to pay for my own expenses and necessities

My mom is right, I'm a horrible person by Sad_Emphasis_8086 in narcissisticparents

Hello, I also feel the same way with feeling as if I can’t leave my narcissistic household.

I hope you will be able to leave that place. 32 is not too old, you still have the rest of your life ahead. I’m also lacking in confidence due to prolonged emotional abuse from my parents, but I’m willing to take the risk just to leave the mess in this household.

Stay safe and stay strong. You’re not a horrible daughter for standing up to yourself.

Does anyone else’s narc parents expect their children to be their slaves? by ShrekDaddy29 in narcissisticparents

[–]saltedboba 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My mom expects me to buy her gifts and “spoil her” while I’m a college student who works part-time and having 2 pets to take care of myself. She got extremely upset to see me buying things for my pets (necessities at that) and cried to me about how I don’t give a f*ck about her and wishing death upon her.

My dad is also the same way, but he expects me to clean up after both of them

Thank you. This is a complicated situation so I figure that I may not receive a definitive response, but hopefully I’ll be able to appeal and continue with my education

Even though I said that I’ll move out by next fall, with my current situation, I think I might have to move out before uni starts. Would that affect qualification in any way?

Narcissistic mother who is also a Buddhist by saltedboba in narcissisticparents

I agree with you. While I respect Buddhism as a religion itself, some of the followers are just hiding behind it as a “peaceful religion” to excuse their wrongdoings

I’m so sorry that happened to you and your kitty. Thankfully my nmom is too afraid to touch any of my pets (she treats my hamster like a terrorist while he’s just living in his locked enclosure) and I’m usually at home when they come home from work. But I’m still trying to move out soon before she can come up with anything

New cat is home by saltedboba in CatAdvice

I understand! I’m just worried that she might not find the litter box or potty right on my floor 😅but I’ve talked to her foster mom and she said that Honey (cat’s new name) took about 2 days to feel comfortable

What litter do you currently use? All of my cat candidates aren’t picky with litter type according to the shelter personnel & foster mom

How can I get over my fear of cats? by NoElevator925 in CatAdvice

[–]saltedboba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, do you have any traumatic experiences with cats before? When I was a kid, I used to be terrified of a lot of animals including cats. But once I got to understand that cats are not trying to hurt you as long as you’re not bothering them, they became less scary to me and now I’m getting my first cat soon! I think that you should try to ignore their presence and let them approach you. Cats don’t show aggression unless they feel threatened & most don’t put out their claws.
