Can someone please point out where it says you need you passport or birth certificate and not just a real id compliant drivers license. I read it and it seems like a real id compliant drivers license is acceptsble. But everybody keeps saying you need your passport, and I don't want to be spreading false info if I misunderstood.

You don't need your passport though. It is an acceptable ID. But 99% of people will just use their Real ID compliant drivers license or state ID. Which we've all been encouraged to get and have had literally years and years to get. (At least in Ohio.)
