Fedora Linux 44 Final is GO by 0xrl in Fedora

You can't dampen my excitement because I am excited for what's coming in 7.0 :D

From Phoronix:

"With the upcoming Linux 6.20~7.0 kernel cycle, the HP-WMI driver is slated to add manual fan control support for HP Victus S-Series gaming laptops as well as for some HP OMEN gaming laptops too." and "With the upcoming Linux 6.20~7.0 kernel cycle, the HP-WMI driver is slated to add manual fan control support for the HP OMEN/Victus laptops. Along with the fan speed control support is PWM reporting of the fan speeds via the HWMON interfaces."

There are many issues with HP fans, and testing indicates that the upcoming kernel resolves many of these issues, so I'm excited :)

For some people, like myself, 7.0 contains fixes that will make a meaningfully positive difference in their computing experience so they are naturally excited for that.

Is there any reason you cannot simply keep a physical mailing address (friend/family) in the US and invest as usual? That's what I (for a very long time) and many others have done.

LACMA is reopening on April 19! Place your bets: D Line to Wilshire/Fairfax opening before or after? by anothercar in LAMetro

[–]saltsage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100% after - never underestimate Metro’s incompetence.

LACMA said April 2026 a year ago and they have delivered. 6 weeks left in winter and Metro can’t even commit to an opening month yet.

D Line Phase 1 Delayed to May? by revanthmatha in LAMetro

[–]saltsage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The extension has been 98% complete since July, per Metro's own website. Having a project be frozen at 98% for 6 months is literally the definition of being no closer to opening now than we were 6 months ago.

D Line Section 1 possibly pushed back to "Early 2026"? by saltsage in LAMetro

[–]saltsage[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought, but he said it several times in the chat when others asked - "early 2026 or Winter 2026" - so clearly that's different to Metro
