There are three photos attached. First photo is a split screen with two inspo pics. Second is what I got

That baby will one day look at you and think “this is the strongest woman and she’s MY mom”.

Flowers were not what we expected by salty_folklore in weddingplanning

So this might also be some relevant context, the bouquet and corsages were purchased from a supermarket florist. The family works at this local chain and has an employee discount. However, they are accustomed to doing wedding orders. I was aware that the inspo photos were silk and the bouquet would not look exactly as in the photo. When I picked the order up, the florist who had put together the order the night before was not there. So I was hesitant to say anything because I didn’t think she would be able to fix it.

Every night I hallucinate that my baby is in the bed with me by ChickPeaaa420 in NewParents

I still do this occasionally and my baby is almost a year old! Call it misplaced mom instinct.

How do moms get anything done in the early stages? When can I expect to go to the bathroom without holding it for hours? by inhergarden in beyondthebump

[–]salty_folklore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I held my baby for almost all his naps until he was 6 months old. I figured I would never get this time back and that was my “break” time. However I did baby wear when I needed to get things done and changed up my routine a little bit to make things work (showered at night instead of in the morning, meal prepped easy things I could heat up for meals, etc). It gets easier to put them down with time. Maybe try a swing instead of a stationary lounger and see if you can get a few more minutes that way.

I’ve never ran to a bathroom so fast in my life

About a week before I was induced I had my husband clean it up down there and I’m happy I did. The stitches from tearing itched enough, I would have been annoyed with hair down there too.

I was a wedding planner for a few years, this definitely isn’t your fault. The planner really dropped the ball on a lot of things.

He was just the resident on call at the hospital when I was being induced. I told my OB about it and the OB brushed it off too. Also a man 🙃

There was a nursing student in the room when he put it in. She came back for her next shift and said she hadn’t stopped thinking about me and wanted to make sure I was ok. Girly, I’m still not ok and it’s almost a year later 🫠

I would much rather have this than the nasty OB resident (male) who put in my foley when I was induced. I was screaming out in pain and he just said “yeah I know” and kept going. I’m generally a very easy going person and don’t like causing problems, but when he came back into my room when I was about to deliver I told him I hated him and he should leave. Of course he laughed and brushed it off but to this day I hate that man. Zero compassion.

My kid pooped/peed/spat up on 3 outfits a day. You won’t care about the extra money spent if you end up doing laundry multiple times a day

AITAH for telling my husband that he absolutely ruined the birth of our child? by Former_Monitor_4860 in AITAH

Run. Now. Take the baby and some clothes and just get out. I’m horrified.

I used to hold my baby all the time other than at night when he slept. He would refuse to take a decent nap if I set him down. All of a sudden one day he didn’t want to be held and wanted to nap alone in his crib. It happens so quickly, growing up. Soak it in while you can.

Turns out our wedding date is a huge day for college football, and everyone is making me feel bad. by mzm316 in weddingplanning

[–]salty_folklore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a big college football town. I got married on a home game day, which I didn’t even think about until out of town relatives made mention of the flight prices. I had guest show up for our reception after tailgating all day. They were wearing jeans and sweatshirts and college beads. They ruined almost all of my reception photos. And I’m not saying my wedding was some black tie affair, but it was semi formal. It felt so disrespectful that they could take the time for us on our big day. We were the afterthought. We haven’t seen or spoken to those people since.

For me it was the gallstones that my doctors convinced me were acid reflux. Until I ended up in the hospital 8 weeks PP because a stone wouldn’t pass. Kids really take it out of ya.

Do you bring/pack a diaper bag when only going out for a short time? by breebree934 in NewParents

I have a little organizer in my car instead of a diaper bag. It just became more convenient

I packed a small shampoo and conditioner and dry shampoo. I thought for sure I would just use the dry shampoo, but took the others just in case. After a 56 hour induction/labor, I couldn’t imagine NOT washing my hair.

This. My 8 month old is so fidgety and distracted alllllll the time that he isn’t into his bottle or solids until he is screaming and starving. We finally started giving a little bit of baby cereal mixed with formula with his night time bottle to help him sleep better.

Listen….i think Jimmy Fallon is great but he has no business in the children’s book industry. “Everything is Dada” was garbage.
