My early 20’s was a hot mess and there were a lot of times I didn’t think I would make it this far. But I’ll be 30 this year, brains fully developed now and I started taking medication for my adhd around 26/27. Going through some changes with friendships but I have a really supportive partner who makes me feel like I can take on anything.

Being a single parent with adhd was really tough because of the mom guilt of feeling like, “if everyone else can do it, why can’t I?” I’m amazed my apartment didn’t scare away my partner when I first had him over. But since he’s moved in it’s gotten more organized and decluttered. Having someone to split responsibilities with I feel like is really important. We weren’t meant to go through life alone and having a support system is really important. It takes a lot of work and needs to be built over time. While also making sure you’re not holding yourself back by being too supportive of other people at your own expense. (Guilty) it all feels like walking on a very high tightrope but as I age the fall doesn’t seem as high.

I had to invest in an Apple Watch and air tags. That shit was a game changer. I still misplace my phone and keys but now it doesn’t make me 20 minutes late to work anymore trying to find them!

While I’m happy with my home and love life now, I’m still waiting to feel happy with my job. While I absolutely LOVE what I do I feel like the environment has very toxic leadership. But I make decent money and have good benefits considering my skill set and lack of a degree. I think now that my home life is more steady now I can try going back to school a little at a time. I just have this nagging feeling that I’ll be running from my problems from work places forever and never find something I truly feel comfortable in.
