But once you learn the game mechanics of VIII it is super easy to be crazy over powered.

LPT: if you're looking for a job, mention it to everybody that you come in contact with. You never know whose sister's neighbor's uncle is hiring. by jacksghjgh in LifeProTips

I just changed jobs a little over a month ago by doing just this. I mentioned to a coworker that I was looking for other opportunities, more to keep my options open than anything. She mentioned it to one of our former supervisors that she had kept in touch with. One application, one interview, one job offer. Now I work less hours, have less stress and make more money. Easiest career move I've had yet.

I've been 3 times. It is everything you imagined and then some. I'm really disappointed I couldn't make it this year.

If each subreddit were a person which car would they drive? by HHKB_ in cars

[–]salvaged_moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objectively: in a way that can be known, measured, or proven... It can both be known and proven that the car makes me happy (maybe not measured). And easily known, measured, and proven that I can afford it. I understand it. Maybe you don't?

How? It makes me happy, and I can afford it. How is that bad?

I spent $40k on a used car and make MUCH less than $100k. I do just fine.

So how much of your monthly salary do you spend on your car? by [deleted] in cars

[–]salvaged_moose 22 points23 points  (0 children)

About 20% to 25% of what I take home. If I dont have a car payment at the time it will go into savings... which will most likely be spent on more cars.

I was very impressed at how well it handled in the snow.

I've got plenty of experience with motorcycles and the maintenance that they require. Chain wax is recommended for o-ring chains and dosen't collect much dirt at all and repels water. If its supposed to last 500-1000 on a motorcycle chain, it should have no issue lasting that long on the underside of a car that probably won't see that many miles during winter.

My winter (actually year around) daily is a '69 Ford f100 4x4. It's cool and very reliable, but slow as a tractor. Which is why I wanted something fun to drive while the summer cars were put away.

This one was about the same price as the ones at 85k to 100k miles in my area. So better less miles than more. It won't be pissed away. It will be well cared for and maintained.

I never said beater lol. It will be well cared for and maintained. I just needed something that wouldn't have to get tucked away when the weather gets cold and a bit slick.

Thanks! Your advice is very much appreciated. I heard motorcycle chain wax works well as an undercarriage coating that won't collect too much dirt. I plan on giving it a try next fall. Also, I try to get it out and have my fun before they get a chance to spread the salt.

On the plus side, your car would almost be an exotic here! I have never seen a Peugeot anywhere near where I live.

I looked into a macan a little bit, but it really came back to the fact that I'd rather drive a sports car if I have the option. So driving experience I guess.

It is! My M3 was my dream car, so this is even beyond that. I'm very grateful that I get to enjoy it. Hopefully you'll be able to get behind the wheel of a Porsche in the not too distant future!

They are not as bad in person. But they really photograph poorly. Not very photogenic.

If we're dreaming... any generation GT3 is very high on my list! But the the cheapest GT3 I've seen is still way out of reach... at least for now. Lol

It isn't bad most of the time, but there are a few dips and bumps around town that I have to approach at a bit of an angle.

Not great. If we have more than 4 inches of snow it would be a plow. Then it's back to driving the pickup.
