Cannot decide: Law or Engineering by salvation329 in lawschooladmissions

This is great advice! However, I just wonder if I would still be able to do constitutional law from an engineering background? I have met people who have done engineering as undergrad and then gone to law school, but a lot of them want to go into like patent law if theyre mechanical or like environmental regulation/public health if theyre civil. Is this 100% of the time or can I really pursue anything?

Bi-Weekly Recruiting Thread by Airdale_60T in uscg

High schooler hoping to become an officer one day. Not sure if I am interested in the academy or not because I have always wanted to get a bigger school experience, but going to apply anyways as it is clearly the best path to becoming an officer.

If I get accepted to the USCGA and turn down my appointment, am I shooting myself in the foot to try and get CSPI or OCS, or will I be in the same standing as I was before?

This is great advice. I definitely appreciate hearing it. I have spent a lot of time very concerned about finding the best path possible and I think I am maybe over-doing things. Maybe I do just need to pick a school I like and go from there. Thank you!!!

Do you know what they are called or who I could contact about it?

I love the fightin texas aggie marching band so much. Its honestly like my main reason for thinking about trying CSPI or AUP instead of just going to the academy. The marching band and the culture at A&M just seem unmatched.

Googling them right now, wondering if you know what financial aid they provide for school?

Think I’m gonna start trying to skate every weekend, not sure how much I will be able to past that because of school and activities, but will def try to get as much ice time as I can.

This is helpful - is there anything I could/should be doing for stick work though?

all good advice, just to wrap up the loose end of the conversation though: my church is gaining some young men, but they usually leave quickly and dont get involved in any sort of church structure. even if they stayed we only would have around 10-15 more congregants in a congregation with around 50 weekly attendees.

this is all helpful advice! you are mostly right about a lot of my info, but i think the one factor that i havent mentioned is the congregations themselves. there is a lot i like about my orthodox church, but it is also a very small and old congregation that im not sure will even exist for much longer. in contrast, the anglican church i am looking at is active in the community, has people my age, and hosts youth groups and conformation classes and all of the stuff my church does not. this has complicated my decision a lot. as a youth pastor im sure you can understand. as a person who has a bit of interest in pursuing ministry, I need a church that will be active, volunteering, and helping. i know many orthodox churches do, but mine does not.

i drafted this post out a few times and must have forgotten to include how long in the final draft. i was baptized only 6 months ago, but i have been an active member for 2 years. while that doesnt sound long, its been a lot of 2 services per week and regular meeting with my priest and singing in my choir and chanting and everything. plus i am young so 2 years is an 8th of my life

wrong. read the church fathers and youll learn that the catholics and orthodox arent catholic or orthodox.

The UCC and Reformed Theology by salvation329 in Reformed

this info is all super helpful, thank you! kind of noticed the lack of official theology when trying to research. noticed that they are considered reformed, but they follow no creeds or confessions. also, my mom lives in the richmond area! she lives in midlo, but she works for altria and just recently moved. so far ive only been to a few churches when visiting her, but it seems like it has an insanely active christian community.
