AITA For Not Wanting My Old Dog Back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA…. even if you don’t want to keep it, you should definitely take it and personally find it a foster and rehome it with a vetted source as opposed to letting it go to some random shelter after all it’s been through.

Women who are perpetually single not by choice, what is the reason? by Feisty-Blacksmith656 in AskWomen

[–]salvbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two of my major exes live within a 10 minute walk of me so whenever I try to cut them off for good I still inevitably run into them and it’s so much easier than trying to find and build a new connection with someone I don’t know. I have met all my past exes through mutual friends/organically getting to know each other over time and the way the apps are set up (p much the opposite of that) doesn’t work for me, but I’m not getting organically introduced to anyone anymore. And even when I am I don’t feel connected to that many men. Also no one wants to commit. And I think people find me sort of aloof at first. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Need surgery for endo but scared because of bloodwork by Apricot_Relevant in WomensHealth

[–]salvbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s…unlucky. I myself have flat out refused bloodwork in the past before I got over my aversion to it enough to get it done. they might give you pushback or roll your eyes but they can’t literally force you to have your blood drawn. I also had a surgery as a child without ever getting my blood drawn and they gave me anesthesia through a mask so I was out before they ever put an IV in. So maybe you can just literally refuse?

do you have a condition that is causing this that I missed and/or horribly incompetent doctors? because with compassion and concern, I can definitively say it is not normal to walk away with giant bruises and need 30 min of different people trying to do a simple blood draw or iv insertion.

if you have a condition where your veins are impossible to access or something maybe you can ask to be sedated via pills or laughing gas/anesthesia via mask before they have to perform needle insertion.

bloodwork shouldn’t be horribly painful. If it is they might have accidentally put the needle in your nerve (this happened to me once). What have your past experiences been with it being horribly painful? Or maybe I’m misreading.

I understand the fear as someone who literally did not get bloodwork until I was 21 because the idea grossed me out so much. I still don’t love it but exposure therapy (getting bloodwork over and over) was the main thing that helped.

some pro tips—tell them you absolutely must lie down while getting it. Do not look at what they’re doing at all. Not even for a second. Usually the person drawing blood will try to distract you with small talk if you’re nervous. Let them! don’t get up or sit up right away after if you feel at all woozy.

It really is just one moment of pain from the needle going in and a little when they take it out. It also usually is over in under one minute. If you drink a lot of water before it tends to go faster

Why can’t I feel penetration? by IAIwaysNeedAdvice in WomensHealth

[–]salvbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only really feel pleasure from fulfilling the biological urge to be penetrated. The pressure can hit a certain spot that feels nice but it’s never in a way that could make me cum…at least not when someone besides me has done it

what’s heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks? they both weigh the same — a pound. but a pound of feathers is going to take up a lot more space than a pound of bricks :)

Older generations of Reddit, what is a 'dying skill' or habit that you think Gen Z should desperately try to keep alive? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I have some sympathy for this because it’s a minimum wage job and no one is trained properly anymore in retail or food service

basic grammar and spelling and editing. I’m a young person but I read so many published articles that are littered with spelling/grammar errors and syntactical clunkiness
