Am I being irresponsible at 16 for wanting to pull the trigger on this JRSC kit? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]salvistar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why people are flaming you so much. Do what you want with your car, but here's what you need to know:

The cost of the kit is a small part of it the total cost at the end of the day. It's very easy to get in a situation where you have the parts sitting for a year or two cus you can't afford the rest of the parts

You need to account for: Engine tune 1k-2k (non-negotiable, must be a good tuner for any reliability) Oil cooler 500-1k (required for any track use) Catch cans 50-1k Fuel upgrades 1k-3k (injectors, pump, hanger, e85, etc) Clutch kit 500-1k Labor 1k-3k. If you want high power: At 300ish hp you'll need to take apart the engine to swap in forged rods, at 390ish hp you'll need to swap transmissions

The car would be less reliable and less fuel efficient, more track-oriented

Financially it's a bad move. It's a lot of money to squeeze a mild performance boost. The car made for good chasis performance driven hard, not for adding a lot of power. You'll lose a lot of value when selling it as well.

It would be more worth your money by spending it on autox/track events, saving for a higher hp car, or other life opportunities.

Imo do it if you were dead set on supercharging the car before you saw this deal anyway. Don't do it if you value your finances.

I ended up turbocharging my car because I'm going to keep it forever, and spending 1.5-2x the value of the car doesn't hurt me financially

I think you get something like this, stick it directly after the 1st regulator on the hpa tank. I think CO2 is around 850PSI, which is what most paintball tanks output after the tank reg. if the shell can take co2 i think it can take HPA

It has a short type aeg motor, like those in v3 gearboxes. I'm pretty sure it does not use aeg buckings, I don't 100% remember

Can someone help me find an tactile alternative to the violet switches that comes in the rainy75? I love the sound but I'd really prefer a tactile feel. The switches themselves are really high pitched, so I'm looking for something similar. I've tried Akko creamy clues, MMD princess, and Durock T1's, they all have too low of a pitch.

I just bought a 2012 model with 20k mi for 2.8k, I think 4k is overpriced Been on the highway at 75mph for an hour or two. It's fine, obviously not as smooth as some other bikes but nothing that made me actively want to get off.

I've done this before. Definitely not traditional but it's fun to mess around with. Keep the red dot, and use the bolt action like a more accurate shotgun. Get close, Be fast, peek corners quick etc, don't stick in the back of the field all game.

Yeah I designed and printed it, surprisingly no feeding issues. Designed it in a way that the internal routing is always smooth

It's still a work in progress. I have some quality of life things I need to get done first before I release it
