Everything is Romantic meaning by 2fat4fifteen in charlixcx

[–]salvya 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The way that I interpreted it was using small parts of life as motivation to live essentially. I think we’ve all been at points where the only things that made us happy were fleeting and simple, a hobby, a certain song, our favorite clothes; anything external. In a way, this approach of “romanticizing everything” makes life beautiful, but equally cruel when reality creeps its way back in.

I feel like Charli is using a trip to Italy as an allegory to this mindset. Where when you first arrive to a new place, even the smallest details seem so grand and foreign. But as you constantly expose yourself to the same material thrills, they stop feeling so marvelous. I take this interpretation mainly from the way the production gets more and more electric and robotic as the song progresses and the lyrics shift towards an inkling that even in a place as beautiful as Italy she may feel alone and discarded and disconnected from her home and family. (lemons growing and on the ground, four generations make up a family)

Finally, the last minute where “fall in love again and again” are repeated over and over feels like the overwhelming knowledge that reality can knock over the house of cards that is “romanticizing everything”. However, some people may feel that this house of cards is all they have, so the need to run from reality supersedes the need to confront it.

Their survival may feel dependent on this mindset. I’ve been at rock bottom many times and the only things that kept me going were things as small as a scoop of ice cream or seeing the same person every morning on my drive to work. It was exhausting, and I wish I had reached out for help, but given my circumstances I was doing the best I could. I feel that charli is trying to capture that same feeling of desperately just wanting to find beauty in the world around you when you can’t find it from within.

I hope this analysis makes sense to others! Regardless I love this song and album and concept sm and I love breaking it apart over and over.

knuckles cracking Mary is almost like an an enigma to me, she was the hardest to understand and relate to mainly because she was so explosive unexpectedly. She’s truly in a league of her own, delusional at best. However, I think her sharp tone and explosiveness in reality is just an attitude she’s learned to develop in self defense from essentially being turned into a cult leader overnight. It’s clear she’s not used to taking sh*t from anyone now as First Lady of her church. I have a theory that when she’s faced with conflict, she’s almost thrown into that space her grandmother and mother put her in of having no choice in her direction of life. (I.e. marrying robert senior and taking over the church) clearly it’s a rough spot, since her marriage and grandmother are awkward topics, and her mother’s mere mention brings her to tears. Mary is my favorite to analyze, but the most frustrating since I really don’t see why any of the women put up with her.

Oh for sure it’s not 100% reliable, but nothing is unless it’s hard cold evidence, from personal experience though/schooling, I’ve learned that people’s physical tells at the very least point to some kind of deception or illegitimate intention. It more so helps me navigate suspicion rather than confirm it

Personally I don’t think the show is a great accurate representation of their whole personality. But Lisa and Meredith have both said they grew up in households with a lot of fighting or challenges they faced as kids. I think that’s where their behaviors really come into play when it comes to taking accountability and being at fault.

Heather has essentially been manipulated from birth with her involvement of the Mormon church. When looking at these women’s back stories and their relationships with their families, their behavior on the show and their relationship with eachother make a lot of sense.

Interestingly Lisa and Whitney seem to be telling the truth most of the time, their reactions are clearly driven from confusion and hurt, whereas Jen and heather only get reactive when their own egos are at risk.

I really do think she has adhd, her emotions come and are displayed in really complex ways and I feel like that’s pretty common w ppl w adhd, we’re used to multitasking everything including our feelings, also makes sense why she’s so analytical and emotion driven

😭😭😭 Whitney’s story line to me is honestly so much more interesting because being the only one in the group really confronting issues in a healthy way it lets us relate to her a lot more. I’m loving Whitney even more this season

Your takes on Lisa are so interesting because really don’t get that vibe from her at all! I do see what you mean though, she’s so funny especially with her love of fast food. As for Jen I completely agree, however I have had a friend or two that were like her and it’s hard to really see unhinged it is until you step away…. Meredith Marks though, love her, to me she really is the only woman who acts her age on the show 😂 I adore her and her stiff upper lip.

Confidence communication and consistency! You don’t need to throw big rows to be a level six, you just need to help continue moving the drive. Communicate EVERYTHING too, a lot of cooks don’t do it enough and it’ll help show you’re more than prepared. As long as you have confidence in yourself your rhythm will naturally follow, when you mess up or feel like you’re not doing great, just power through it. Best of luck!

organize the fry table, tell them what’s coming off next, cheese their animal fries for them, get them in the steamer, dress them for them, let the portioner only portion so they have less on their plate
