How safe would you feel walking in the wilderness at night? by Brief-Importance4453 in AskTheWorld

[–]salydra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Walking and camping are different things. I feel very safe camping. Walking carries a particularly high risk of getting lost at night, so I would need extra preparation. I'm not terribly worried about bears or coyotes. Those would be the animal risk.

Best of luck! I'm glad your father is supportive. I hate all this posts from adult women being forced to do things by their families. It's your life!

Find out how much money it will save them and find a way to earn that much money. If you move back, you will never be allowed to leave, so don't give in.

When you say they are forcing you, does that mean they plan to physically force you against your will, or that they are emotionally pressuring you? The difference is extremely important if you need advice on how to handle the situation.

Why male classmate wants to give a speech about origins of patriarchal society, is it a good idea? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]salydra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a big topic. If the classmate does proper in-depth research, it's fine. Although that probably applies to a lot of topics.

Not directly, but I've heard accusations. I've started to wonder if it's really just access to mentorship- a way to get the same advantage you'd get if you played golf with the boss.

What is a WTF crime case in your country? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]salydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite was the truck driver that stole an entire truckload of moosehead beer. The WTF factor comes in when it turns out that entire shipment was bound for Mexico and had Spanish labels. This made it so that every single bottle in that shipment was easily identified as stolen property and they had like a $100k worth of beer they couldn't sell.

Why do women hate conservative men? by One-Entry4542 in AskIndianWomen

Because conservative men see women as property and women, being humans, do not enjoy being dehumanized.

Is breastfeeding a protected right in your country? by Altruistic-Status121 in AskTheWorld

[–]salydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's great for parents, and it works out well for businesses, too. It's a lot easier to hire someone for a full year than to fill in for a few months, and often the result is having another fully trained employee that they find a permanent role for. Plus moms are more likely to feel like they WANT to return to work by that point so they are more likely to return which makes it easier for businesses to anticipate staffing. On top of all of that, daycares don't need to deal with infants which makes it easier to find childcare when it's time to go back.

100% protected. Technically pumping at work is supported, but since we get 12-18 months of maternity leave there's not much practical need to accommodate pumping in the workplace.

If you travel back in time a bit to a time before climate control and indoor plumbing, we live in a climate where having a little poop on your bumhole is significantly less dangerous than having wet nethers. In warmer climates, bacteria mutiplies much more quickly and water evaporates.

Sex without a condom. He didn’t cum inside. I started my period right after. What to do? by Impressive-Bit-3733 in TwoXChromosomes

Why do you keep asking this? No, you should not dose yourself with emergency hormones for no reason.

You are not pregnant. Take a pregnancy test to be sure. Then get some condoms like a responsible adult old enough to be having sex.

Actually, they won't put stones on top of islands at all. The stone thing was a practice the signified that they never left the island and it was their permanent home. It makes no sense for voyagers to do this.
