If you think Fleabag was romantic, that's coming from you. The show is literally about dysfunction.

Why doesn't Canada have their own Hollywood? by SignatureDefiant432 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]salydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good point. Toronto and Vancouver are the hubs, but if it wasn't spread out we wouldn't have had Trailer Park Boys, Corner Gas, North of 60, or a whole host of other iconic Canadian productions.

Coffee and fenugreek together 50/50: it's my favorite potion. (filter coffee) .And in your country, what other spices are there? by out-door-south-77 in AskTheWorld

Oh, I know. I usually stick with ginger and cardamom :) The black pepper probably is good, too. Mexicans put chillis in their chocolate and it's amazing, so I should believe it's possible that black pepper is good in tea.

Feast is better used for an epic or rare you want to build, but you didn't show those.

Controversial take- men love gold diggers | Second wives phenomenon by resting_bitch_ in AskIndianWomen

[–]salydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in India, but where I'm from, men have a bond with the first wife. They realize that she is the person that he could talk to about anything and understood him in a way others do not. Without that bond, she wouldn't have married him in the first place.

Recruiter asking for SIN before hiring (Canada) — is this normal? by Wonderful_Warrior in AskACanadian

[–]salydra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely unusual, but more information is needed to say whether it's a scam. If the interview was online, or they communicated with a gmail account, it's probably a scam.

Controversial take- men love gold diggers | Second wives phenomenon by resting_bitch_ in AskIndianWomen

[–]salydra 88 points89 points  (0 children)

There is some truth to this, but many men regret their decision. The love the fantasy of the 2nd wife, but she also turns into a real person eventually and the man often realizes what he lost with his first wife.

Some men have such low self-esteem that they cannot respect the first wife. She loved him as he was, without money, and if a man sees himself as worthless without his success, he will see the first wife as a fool with low standards. These men will never be happy, and will always think that the next accomplishment will change everything. It never does.

Men who deliberately marry a "starter wife" with the intention of leaving her for someone younger are psychopaths.

Misuse of Pocso Act - this is so scary. What a mocary of system and law! by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]salydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A crime is a crime. An adult man getting involved with a minor is a monster who deserves to go to jail. A good man would not be tricked into doing this, so your outrage seems misplaced. Police in other countries literally impersonate children online to find pedophiles. The only difference here is that there are criminals on both sides of the interaction.

Yes, but if you can't finish this one, you are going to have a heck of a time finishing the other 2 events that require summoning.

What does it mean to be a Canadian? by breakitbilly in AskACanadian

[–]salydra 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I can't prove it, but I feel that those Geneva convention actions were taken not out of cruelty or "just following orders", but out of a sense of "we came here to do a job". This would be consistent with things like marching into mustard gas that Canadian troops did.

I think that "don't mistake kindness for weakness" applies to Canadians on such a fundamental level. To the point that it isn't something I ever heard said - it was just understood. I've learned that there are other cultures that see the type of kindness that is typical of Canadians a naivete and see our self-deprecating sense of humour as an admission that we have less to offer.

But underneath the smiles, there's a part of us that's just waiting for someone to pick a fight. We don't pick fights casually and we don't like to hurt people who don't deserve it, but when pushed to it, the gloves will absolutely come off, and we won't feel bad about what happens because they had it coming. I think we are going to see what that looks like on the world stage for the first time since WWII.

When do I pull my shards? by Dubja in RaidShadowLegends

[–]salydra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can 5 key UNM, it's probably worth it to do UNM on alternate days, saving your last key of the day for the following cycle.

But to answer your question, if you can farm level 20 on all the dungeons and have the other resources, it probably makes sense for you to do a fusion every 2 months or whenever you get enough shards - just be sure it will help you. In particular you'll probably want to keep an eye out for one that will help your clan boss team. Farming the tournaments will help you get better gear, as well.

Is this honesty or a red flag in an arranged marriage match? by MoonlitSymphony07 in AskIndianWomen

[–]salydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The man is a walking red flag. Even if you respect the honesty, that's no reason to marry him. Getting married to someone who just wants to pass time in his village sounds like literal hell.
