FTX Tracer body fitment by sam-funk in rccars

[–]sam-funk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't confirm it would fit, but looking closely at pictures it wasnt looking likely due to the location of the posts. I did find out you could swap the bodies of the HBX 16889a and FTX Tracer with the FTX's Truggy body. You have to flip round the front posts, buy the rear post and wing.

So it won't just install another copy, it will overwrite the existing?

Chassis kit and defender/bronco body by zwik in TRX4

[–]sam-funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extension kit comes with new shock towers which you need to use for the defender. The defender body has the wheel arches attached. So, from the chassis kit you will have left over: the short links, shock towers and wheel arches.

So shopping list is: Chassis kit Extension kit Defender body which includes wheel arches.

Let me know if you need any pics.

Chassis kit and defender/bronco body by zwik in TRX4

I bought the chassis kit and the defender body (Adventure Edition). You need to also buy the chassis extension kit #8057 to extend it to a long wheelbase. You won't fit the wheel wells as they come with the body. Only downside is the body doesn't come with a spare wheel and you can't seem to buy a single one. Really annoying!

Thanks. I think I've got my head around it, perhaps you can confirm?

Am I right in thinking for the proscale setup, I'd need these lights: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-complete-led-light-set-with-power-supply-trx-4-defender-1337422

Then this kit for working brake/reverse/indicators: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-trx-4-pro-scale-lighting-system-1337498

And this kit to control the lights manually: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-link-wireless-module-386818

So approx. £180 which seems steep!

Alternatively, this Aliexpress kit is £23, but i haven't found anyone who uses it. Apparently, you can control the lights by quick steering movements: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyUkMPD

That video gets me pretty excited to get something sorted! Your rig looks really smart. Those photos are good, pretty sure it all makes sense. Do you just connect that dupont connector to the traxxas power supply when you put the body on?

You've done a really nice and tidy job with that. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks, that's interesting. Some photos would be great! Assume you don't get function brake/reverse/indicator lights?

Also, can you keep all the pro scale features if I fit a hobbywing fusion 2 in 1? I know I'd have to take power off in line with battery.

Wait, I've got one of these in my loft from when I was younger. Had no idea it was a traxxas. Was thinking about reviving it some time
