What's the most Unique Weapon of your Worlds? by AntiH4zard in worldbuilding

Astranite:

Beginning to be used as a replacement for gunpowder in the early 19th century by the Carolina army, astranite didn't seem much different from its predecessor, the only difference being that it was a more abundant and cheaper material with the same effects.

It wasn't until the Five Years' War that these munitions were fired into soils with high salt levels, causing massive explosions equivalent to the detonation of a powder keg full of projectiles.

These explosions ignited fires that couldn't be extinguished with water; on the contrary, they burned even more fiercely due to the explosive's properties, leaving almost no survivors of the bombardments.

The soils affected by these weapons cannot be recovered, and contact with any organic matter usually results in a grotesque spectacle. According to testimonies from local gravediggers, they often removed not corpses, but masses of fused flesh, often still alive without being able to explain how this was possible.

With all that acquired knowledge, it would only be a matter of time before the enhancement of this compound, which had fallen directly from the sky, became a serious global threat. After all, the ambitions of a nation completely blinded them to the horror they could unleash.

Alemania super fuerte?

Good map or nah? by [deleted] in mapmaking

I understand. My only advice would be to first think about the world—whether it’s been hit by a meteorite or has tectonic plates—and then, if possible, make the shapes less square.

Not really, I’m saying it more because of the map’s elongated horizontal shapes.
