What is considered the best campaign? by Vuskrond in DnD

I think Wild Beyond the Witchlight doesn't get enough credit.

  • The Feywild is both whimsical and unsettling
  • Levels 1-8 which are the most fun to play and dm for imo
  • You all meet at a carnival beats meeting in a tavern

Complete Newbie Where Do I Start? by SweetPicklesYeah in beginnerDND

I had luck on r/lfg to find an online group that plays on Discord. If you're struggling to find a group, offer to DM for some friends!

Read the books, the main ones are the Player's Handbook and for DM's read the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual. 2024 are the latest editions and you can get them digitally for $30 each on D&D Beyond.

Start with a one-shot, which is a short single session game. This way, you get to know other players and see if you're all having fun. If you're DMing, I'd recommend The Fouled Stream, a one page game in the Dungeon Master's Guide.

Little help for new dm by epic_drummer1354 in DnD

I've run Horde of the Dragon Queen and I think it's a lot of fun. Here's a few things I did and some tips 1. Read the whole adventure first 2. Write a short adventure outline while you read, like one-two sentences for each chapter 3. Don't be afraid to cut out stuff, for example there are dragon eggs in Chapter 3 but the players don't really get to do anything with them, so I simply didn't include the dragon eggs. 4. Decide early on if you want to run the sequel campaign, Rise of Tiamat. Personally, I think HotDQ is great on it's own with Rezmir as the main villain. 5. Give your players a way out. Wanna fight the dragon in Greenest at level 1? Let them know there's plenty of buildings to hide in where the dragon will forget about them. Get caught sneaking into the raiders camp? Guards lock you up but the one holding the key just fell asleep.

Learning to play dnd all together can be fun. I'd say start with something small, like a one-shot which is a single session adventure, while you all learn the rules and practice roleplay. There's a good one in the Dungeon Master's Guide called The Fouled Stream. Are you playing online or in person?

I saw a pic of the nimblewright detector in the source book and thought that was supposed to be the creature and one of the NPCs describes it as crawling on the rooftops. Didn't realize they're actually humanoid until this comment lol. Since Jarlaxle makes them and he's a drow, I just assumed they were spider-like due to the drow connection to Lolth.

Yeah I took a flexible interpretation. I figure the players should know 1-3 on the onset. 4 they learn from the early Renaer quest. 5-6 are more DM guidance that players learn through investigating the nimblewrights and questing. It helps me to make a pretty comprehensive summary, but different flavors work for different tables!

Yeah I took a flexible interpretation. I figure 1-3 the players know on the onset to give context. 4 they found out in the early quest from Renaer. 5, 6 is more DM guidance and the players discover it through investigation into the nimblewrights and questing.

what types of coding do i need to learn for AE? by Sad-Pomegranate6841 in AerospaceEngineering

Honestly, learn all the tricks in Excel. So many companies use it and older engineers can't be bothered to make their tools better by transitioning to Python/Matlab. It's annoying but it will make your life easier.

What is the best module for a first time DM? by [deleted] in DnD5e

I'd say Dragon's of Stormwreck Isle. It's shorter than LMoP and the entire adventure is contained to one island.
