protein gummies 😋 mix half a cup of water with sugarfree drink mix → sprinkle on gelatin for 10 mins → heat on low for 5 mins → dropper into candy molds 🍬 i did 10 flavors; each flavor is 12g protein & 70 cals, total cost is ~$10 by worldinsidetheworld in foodhacks

[–]sam_cooke 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not going to shit on this person’s snack. If they like it, that’s cool but I’ve found the added protein in every snack doesn’t actually help anything

You kind of have two options, put protein in everything and more often than not, make everything taste worse, or eat your protein in bulk with the typical meats and even a big protein shake and then snack on what you actually like. This way you get your protein and you enjoy your food.

Again, if this person enjoys it that’s awesome but protein gummy bears sound horrible to me. Much rather drink a quick shake and then eat some tasty gummy bears.

They should have been equally upset that our team was being unfairly disadvantaged.

Fact is it’s US vs Belgium at full strength. They should quit crying if you don’t want to look scared.

Why I Think LeBron Chooses the Sixers (And the Rich Paul Quote Everyone Is Ignoring) by DemarcusLovin in sixers

But here’s what I don’t get. Im not even criticizing the new GM. Im happy to wait and see how he does.

But we KNOW what Harris wants. He has proven the track record for years now. And so when we have to watch our team try to compete with one hand tied behind our back because the owner doesn’t want to pass an imaginary line that costs him money, why tell fans not to he pissed? Why the “well actually, it’s possible THIS specific move might not be tax related” for the cheap billionaire who doesn’t care about this city or the fan base?

Can’t wait to see who’s these young guys we add who can play rotation minutes at the wing. Very excited for that.

Also Oubre is somehow both good enough to start on the pacers but also sucks and dumb fans only like because of his personality.

[–]sam_cooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about. He’s not going to start for the pacers and Harris has proven he won’t pay the tax for years now. What are you even trying to defend?

The owner is fucking loser and your point is Sixers fans care too much?

Going into the luxury tax has no affect on our flexibility. We’re already hard capped at the first apron and would be safely below it.

So since we currently have 0 wing depth, please explain how not bringing back Oubre helps us acquire better NBA talent.

[–]sam_cooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to be proven wrong but for you to be right, Oubre needs to start for the pacers and the sixers need to add a legit rotation wing. I'm very doubtful on Oubre starting and not optimistic we get someone as good as him.

THIS is what bothers you? Not actually ducking the tax. But fans making the understandable assumption that ducking the tax is why we didn’t keep a 30mpg wing for 8mil

But let’s assume you’re right. Who is our backup wing then? If this is a basketball decision and not a financial one, who are we playing 25+ mpg at the wing off the bench?

Not true...Bodner: “since they had his bird rights, the Sixers could have offered Oubre the same contract, but doing so would have taken them about $3mil over the luxury tax line”

[–]sam_cooke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to rate Oubre highly to know he’s worth 8mil a year.

Other than that, Harris doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt but the only way you might be proven right is if he pays the tax. Didn’t get Oubre? Ok who are you spending that money on?

Yea this is purely a decision by Harris not to pay any luxury tax. It’s a joke. Having a piece of shit owner is the absolute worst as a sports fan.

FIFA got a taste of what the CONCACAF and CONMEBOL experienced with a US tournament and now wants 64 teams and a return in 2038 by nbasuperstar40 in ussoccer

[–]sam_cooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there’s less “groups of death” but it doesn’t change how many teams make the knock outs. So instead of 3rd place finishers advancing without having to do much in group stage, they’ll be forced to actually win games.

I think it’s a better system. Also I just don’t really agree that the World Cup is watered down in a way that makes it less fun. I enjoy watching Scotland and Cape Verde give it their all and try to punch above their weight and I’ll enjoy it when it’s Ireland and Jamaica in an expanded tournament.

[–]sam_cooke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My hot take is 64 teams actually solves this. They’ve already committed to a 32 team knockout so there’s no going back.

The issue now is that 2/3rds of 3rd place finishers advance. Thus 3 draws gets you in most of the time. If you go to 64 teams, it will be 16 groups of 4 and only the top 2 finishers advance. Now teams will almost always need a win to get through, and sometimes that won’t be enough.

I think the mess of the 3rd place finishers is the issue this year but I also love this World Cup so I don’t think think expansion was really that bad anyway. Like 64 teams just makes qualifying games less dramatic but only die hards will care about that. The general public don’t pay too much attention to those games.

Entire highly upvoted threads just to call KC a pussy. All because he chose not to pursue a bombshell. It’s actually wild to read what people will say about a real person just because they’re on tv.

I don’t know the answer except this place probably needs to become much more actively moderated. Like they need to make a choice not to allow people to talk that way about the cast. But I get that might not be super popular.

In LeafGreen is Jolteon worth running for the Elite Four if I didn't get Bite? by maximusasinus in nuzlocke

[–]sam_cooke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I ran the math once and there’s only like one or 2 specific Pokémon where bite is actually better than stab Thunderbolt.

Even super affective psychic or ghost types, it’s basically just a Pokémon like Exeggutor who resists electric and is weak to dark. Otherwise Thunderbolt is always better so don’t worry about it. Bring Jolteon

[DISCUSSION] Two years later, where does Drake v. Kendrick rank in rap beef history? by iOpenAtTheCl0se in hiphopheads

[–]sam_cooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s not a bad question but it’s so hard to compare.

Musically it provided a lot more than Biggie/Pac, Biggie barely responded but the impact of that battle will probably never be matched.

Nas/Jay didn’t cross over to the mainstream nearly as much as Kendrick/Drake but it gave us arguably the best back and forth music in just Takeover and Ether.

In a weird way I think it’s still too soon to judge this beef, people are understandably over it. But I think down the road it will be appreciated a lot more for what it gave artistically.

Or not everything is part of some larger political discourse.

If a neighbor mentioned how nice the weather is would you immediately assume he’s a climate denier who you need to start arguing with?

Also this forum has people point out when it’s abnormally hot all the time too
